I picked up The Body Shop Early-Harvest Raspberry Body Scrub a few months ago during a Sale. I have tried plenty of The Body Shop shower gels, body butter, perfumes and even makeup but somehow I never picked up any scrub from them. The main reasons are that I make my own scrub at home and also that I have dry skin so my skin gets irritated with too frequent exfoliation. Now that it is summer here, I have been getting a chance to use this more regularly. So here is the review of The Body Shop Raspberry Scrub!

The Body Shop Early Harvest Raspberry Body Scrub comes in a plastic tub packaging. The scrub itself has a jam-like texture and has apricot shell grits and raspberry bits for a great exfoliation experience. I am not a huge fan of tub packaging for body scrubs since these need to be used in the shower and I do not like putting wet hands into cosmetics. It can ruin the product. Hygiene-wise I am not a huge fan of the packaging but it is functional.
I expected the scent to be of delicious Raspberry jam but somehow I ended up disliking the smell – it did not smell like Raspberry alone. I think some chemical variant of Raspberry smell. So the scent is subjective to everyone’s taste!
Onto the actual scrub!

This Raspberry scrub has a jam-like texture and contains two types of scrub particles – Apricot Shell Powder (large grits) and Raspberry Seeds (small bits). Both of these together give a nice exfoliation to the skin. The Apricot Shell Powder intimidated me at first as I thought it would be abrasive but it is well-shaped and does not tug at the skin. The Raspberry seeds give a very gently exfoliation, something that could even work for the face. this scrub, however, is not suitable for the facial skin.

This body scrub contains Apricot Shell Power, Raspberry Seeds, Silica, Honey and Raspberry Fruit extract in addition to other ingredients. It also contains added fragrance and color.
The color does not stay on the skin but I think is just to make the product more visually-appealing.

I enjoyed using this body scrub and will be giving other The Body Shop body scrubs a go. I am specifically thinking about the Body Polish as they are in squeeze tube form. I wished it smelled better! All in all, this is not my favorite body scrub ever or my favorite product from The Body Shop. For what this body scrub does, I think it is a bit expensive in India and I can easily replace it with something from the Indian brands!
