The Body Shop Bamboo Detangling Comb – Review

I have wavy hair and so it gets tangled easily even in a ponytail. I like my hair to look smooth and manageable and so I comb my hair many times during the day. I have read a lot about the pros and cons of frequent combing of hair; on one hand, it helps distribute the natural oils from roots to the ends, while on the other hand it can cause har breakage. Combing smartly is the key 🙂 I used to like my fine toothed comb from Vega which would smooth out my poofy hair but I noticed that I was losing multiple hair every time I combed with it. So I bought the detangling comb from THE BODY SHOP.

The Body Shop Detangling Comb

Features of the product:

  • Wide toothed comb that helps detangle hair gently
  • Round ends of the teeth do not pull at hair or scratch the scalp
  • Can be used on wet or dry hair and does not cause hair-breakage
  • Easy to clean and wash
  • Strong and high quality, lasts a long time
  • Eco-friendly. Made of uncoated wood.
  • Good Value for money

The company claims that the comb can be used on wet hair but I do not usually comb until my hair is at least 80% dry so I cannot comment on its work on wet hair as much but it delivers on all other claims/features. I have used these bamboo combs for over 3 years and have never had any problems with them.
They are sturdy, easy to handle, gentle to the hair and scalp and long-lasting; also easy to clean. I prefer these over plastic detangling combs.

  1. […] I have been using The Body shop detangling comb for over 3 years now and I have never even looked at any other wide-tooth/detangling comb all this while. I believe the current one is my 3rd or 4th (I change combs regularly for hygiene reasons). It is gentle on the hair, detangles and is very convenient to use. Read the full review here. […]
