SUGAR Stroke Of Genius Heavy Duty Kohl – 01 Back To Black REVIEW, SWATCHES, PRICE
Hi everyone, today I am going to review a kajal that I have been using for over 5 months now. It took me a long time to review this kajal as I was under the impression that I had already reviewed it. I am talking about the SUGAR Heavy duty Kohl pencil – Back to Black. Here is the detailed review for you!
Product: SUGAR Stroke Of Genius Heavy Duty Kohl (01 Back To Black)
Price: 499 INR
Claim: Eye makeup can be tricky but a stroke of genius can put you at ease. Add to that intense black colour and soft creamy texture and you know you’ve been hooked for life. The SUGAR Stroke of Genius Heavy-Duty Kohl – a waterproof Kohl pencil – can add pretty to your eyes in a single swipe. Its wax-based formula spreads evenly and lasts for up to 8 hours. Not just that, it comes with a free sharpener to ensure your eye makeup is always on point.
SUGAR Heavy-duty Kohl pencil comes in a matte black mechanical pencil with black lid. The packaging is really nice even though I prefer retractable pencils. I feel that a lot of product goes waste in sharpening. And also, sharpening is an added burden (ya I am lazy ;)).
The texture of this kajal is creamy and t glides like butter. I think it is quite comparable to the L’Oreal Silkissime eyeliners. I have never seen an eyeliner butter-ier than that and this one gives it a stiff competition. The pigmentation is also great. I would consider this eyeliner as a deep black eyeliner like the Maybelline the Colossal Kajal Super Black and L’Oreal Kajal Magique Bold.
As I have already mentioned, it glides smoothly over the eyelids. It takes a bit of a time to set, actually it never really sets. If you have oily eyelids, it will transfer above the fold of the eyelid. It is easy to smudge if smoky eye is your thing. I liked using it as eyeliner on the top of my lid. It is a bit too creamy for my waterline. I have water-y eyes so even waterproof eyeliners do not stay as well, leave alone these creamy kajals.
This kajal looks best within the first 3-4 hours. I think it starts fading after that. However, what I love about this kajal is that it stays all day long even though not as intense as it looks when freshly applied.
SUGAR send a free sharpener that is perfect for this eyeliner. This is a standard size eyeliner pencil and you can use any eyeliner sharpener you already have if you end up losing it.
Here’s an intense winged liner (for hooded eyes) I created using this SUGAR kajal:
Overall really enjoy using the SUGAR Heavy duty kohl kajal. It is so easy to apply both on the waterline as well as the upper lashline. I have also tightlined using this eyeliner. If you do not have water-y eyes or oily eyelids, you will definitely love using this Sugar kajal. It is priced well as well and is comparable to products from drugstore brands in the same category.
