The Face Shop Avocado Real Nature Mask Review

 Someone has been using masksheets all the time. Actually more than the skincare benefits, I am loving the relaxing effect the masksheets have on me. Check out my haul post. Today I bring you the review of The Face Shop Real Nature Avocado mask.

Directions:

1. Wash face and apply toner.
2. Pull out the mask and carefully place it on the face.
3. Remove after 10-12 minutes and tap lightly to absorb the remaining essence into the skin.

Another day another mask, I do not think I was especially impressed by this Avocado mask. I have tried so many different mask sheets now and their effects despite their similar outrageous claims deliver the same results for me. Of course one masksheet can only do so much but I still expect a noticeable difference no matter how little.
The Face Shop Real Nature Avocado mask sheet was moisturizing to the skin, a little more than a night cream and it helped me relax before going to sleep. Slowly I am developing a habit of using face masks for relaxation more than their skincare benefits.
I have tried a lot of face masks in the past 8 months and now I have tried sheetmasks from many Korean brands and The Face Shop face masks are losing their charm for me.
One of the reasons is that many of the face masks do not smell good despite containing fragrance and they contain parabens (in most cases both Methyl and Ethyl Parabens). And the recent studies have shown that parabens are not good for us.
I have seen better smelling, paraben-free masks in the same price range from other brands and some of them promise (and deliver) skincare benefits.
Another thing is that The Face Shop Real Nature masks are moisturizing, a little more than an average night cream, but they do not offer anything on top of that.
Some key points:
1. The fragrance is listed last in the ingredients list and I do think the mask is not heavily perfumed which is always a plus in my eyes for skincare products.
2. A good thing is that Avocado (Persa Gratissima fruit) extract is fourth in the Ingredient list (after Aqua, Glycerin and Butylene Glycol). This makes the Avocado one of the key ingredients and this is how it should be!
Other Important ingredients: Trehalose, Phaseolus Radiatus Extract (Mung bean), Betula Platyphylla Japonica Bark Extract (Japanese White Birch), Rumex Crispus Root extract (Curly/yellow dock)
Each face mask from the REAL NATURE line works differently and I have a few favorites but the Avocado mask did not impress me a lot!

I deducted points from the rating mainly because I didn’t enjoy the scent and this mask contains parabens (all The Face Shop Real Nature masks do). It was also not as hydrating as it claimed (and I expected it to be)! I enjoyed other face masksheets far better than this Avocado mask sheet
