I got the Etude House Face Conditioning cream as a new year’s gift for myself (See the haul post). I have dry skin and do not use primers a lot so I thought a cream with primer like properties will work well for me. I have been using this for a few weeks now so let’s dig into my experience to see if this will work for you or not!

Etude House Face Conditioning cream comes in a pearly white tube with a silver twist up lid. The outer packaging is in white, silver and aqua color with the name of the products printed on a (printed) hand mirror. Despite the basic tube packaging, Etude House has cleverly used colors and cute fonts to increase the visual appeal of the product.
It has an SPF 25 and PA++. Etude House markets this cream as a ‘conditioning’ cream because it is supposed to even-out the skin like a primer and lightly moisturize the skin like a cream.
Before buying it, I considered this as a skincare product with makeup benefits but after using it, I think it is a purely makeup product (like a primer) with a few skincare benefits especially for dry skin!

And the reason is that it does not have enough moisture content to offer to the skin and since it contains Isobutane (which is a petroleum derivative) which makes it sit on top of the skin without seeping in and moisturizing. Isobutane is also a thickening agent which probably explains the seemingly thick texture of this cream which turns light-weight when applied. It also contains Coconut oil, argan oil and olive oil which are amazing skin conditioning agents but I do not see much difference to my skin after using this product. Except that…it makes the face makeup last longer! (foundation/primer/blush)
I cannot comment on the long-term whitening properties (because I do not care about that effect) but it does brighten the skin on applying. It is pearly white in color with no color correction or coverage. It has a delicate floral smell.
A little bit goes a long way so use small amounts at a time and spread before squeezing out more because it can become streaky.
Likes:

• Makes the makeup last longer
• Gives a little glow to the skin
• Light weight
• Has medium sun protection (SPF 25, PA++)

Dislikes:

• Not very moisturizing
• Acts basically like a primer (especially for dry skin)

I think it will work really great for girls with oily/normal skin in summer because they can skip moisturizer with this one so it will act as moisturizer+primer. For dry skin, it will always be an extra step after moisturizing and will act as a primer only. During winter, everyone would need a moisturizer before the face conditioning step.

I have given it 3.75 by judging it according to what it claims to do -> light weight, makeup ready complexion. 75 for ~10$ is not a bad deal but bear in mind that for dry skintypes, you need to moisturize your skin first and then apply this cream and top it up with foundation/cushion/bb cream. I will keep using it (for special occasions) especially when I really want my skin to appear even and the makeup to last long! But this is a unique but not a must have product in my opinion.
I remember Etude House running a contest to name this cream something catchy and they chose Facon cream! I find it really funny. Anyway!
