Purple Smoky Eye + Burgundy Lips Makeup Tutorial by RituKT

Hi everyone, I have been filming YouTube videos in vlog style these days. Actually, ever since joining a full-time job, I did not have the time to make a video at home the way I like to do it. This kept me away from making videos since I was barely at home during weekdays and had busy weekends (family responsibilities). I decided to film chatty videos last month while I was commuting to my office. The response from all of you has been inspiring me to make more videos. So, one fine day I got a chance to film a video and this makeup tutorial is a result of that. Hope you enjoy the video and blogpost!

Step by step makeup tutorial:
Step 1: I primed my eyes, both under eye area as well as on my eyelid, using the The Body Shop Insta Blur Eye All in One Tinted Concealer + Primer, it helps in making the skin smooth enough for makeup application. I have oily eyelids so this primer also helps in making the makeup last long. It does not work great as a concealer.
Step 2: Apply a medium coverage foundation. I used The Body Shop Moisture Foundation. It is slightly light for me (the Sales Assistant matched me to this shade). It photographs well even though I would have liked a foundation in one shade darker than this one.
Step 3: Next I concealed my dark circles using the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. This concealer is best for oily skin. I have a dry skin with oily T zone and oily eylids, under eye area so this one worked well for me.
Step 4: I used the L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable powder to set my base makeup especially the concealer. I really love this powder. I am yet to review on the blog. I want to use it in summer and then review since that time is the best to test a face powder.
Step 5: After finishing off my base makeup, I moved on to my eye makeup. I wanted to use the Seasoul Dual Eyeshadow Palette (SS11). It has two shades of purple, semi-matte and shimmer. Both of them look quite different from one another and complement each other well. The colors would stand out more on lighter skintones.
Step 6: I defined my eyes using the L’Oreal Silkissime Eyeliner in Plum. I winged it out slightly. Black would have also looked good with purple but I wanted to keep it a bit softer than black. This shade looked good with the purple. It blended with the whole look and yet stood out. I used the Oriflame Very Me Double Trouble eyeliner (Purple) and ran the darker shade on my waterline.
Step 7: Next I used the Etude House Play 101 Contour Duo and used the highlight part to highlight my browbone. I ended up removing it later since it did not blend really well. I ended up using the Sivanna Colors Shimmer Brick to highlight my cheekbones, browbone and inner corner of my eyes. I used a fan brush to apply the highlighter on my cheekbones.
Step 8: Then, I curled my lashes and applied the SUGAR Lashmob Limitless Mascara (Black with a Bang). I think it does separate the lashes and adds a bit of length. I will review it in detail on the blog soon after trying it out more.
Step 9: I used Lakme Absolute Blush Duo – Pink to add some color to my cheeks. Since the whole look had cool-toned shades, I used this shade. I usually like warm-toned shades as blush on me.
Step 10: Defined my brows using the Etude House Drawing Eyebrow pencil #1. I love this eyebrow pencil, the shade matches my eyebrow hair color. The spooly helps in combing the eyebrow hair and bringing them back in place.
Step 11: Last step, add colors to the lips. Even though I did a smoky eye, I added a bold lip shade to the look. I love breaking makeup rules. So I used the INCOLOR Cosmetics Matte Me Ultra Smooth Matte Lip cream in 411.
