Patanjali Amla Hair Oil – Review, Price in India

Hi everyone, Patanjali products especially beauty products are slowly becoming popular. One of the reasons might be the affordability and easy availability. However, I think the typical Indian mentality that “Ayurvedic products are good” is at play here. I do not know about you but I think that way too. I tried Sri Sri Ayurveda and Patanjali products simply because I felt that they would not be laden with chemicals. Anyhow, I have been using the patanjali Amla Hair Oil for quite some time now, here is the detailed product review:

Claim: This amla hair oil strengthens the roots of the hair, prevents hair fall, prevents graying of hair and split ends.
The Patanjali Amla Hair Oil comes in a clear plastic bottle with a dark green lid that has a flip top. It has small opening which dispenses the hair oil. The oil itself is also green in color and has a noticeable amla (indian gooseberry) scent.
Amla has been one of the most popular hair care ingredients in addition to Hibiscus and others. I really like the scent and feel like it is very relaxing. I also feel that this hair oil is a bit cooling to the scalp and I love using it in the hotter months of the year.

When I looked at the ingredient list, I hate that Indian law does not require brands to disclose all the ingredients. There is something called “base Q.S.” but no one knows what is in it. This one has Sunflower oil, Sesame oil and Olive oil and then Amla. I would have liked to see Amla at the top of the list. Anyhow. Let’s move on to the review.
I felt that the hair oil was relaxing and cooling to my scalp. I felt that it also made my hair look slightly shinier. But I did not notice any change in hair fall. I suffer from premature greying of hair (genetic issue) so I do not think this oil can actually reverse or stop that. For the price, I think it is a good deal!

Although this hair oil did not make any difference to my hair in terms of hair fall and graying, it did feel relaxing when I massaged it in my hair. The scent can be an issue for a few people, I like Amla’s citrus scent so I do not mind it. If you plan on trying this out, do not expect drastic results. It is an affordable hair oil for regular use and does give a nice shine to your hair.
