OOTD – Blue, White and Sporty Chic!

My go to look has always been the classy-chic look. I automatically pick up pieces that are non-fussy and do not need much effort to create an outfit from. I have recently started experimenting with my looks – outfit-wise specifically – and also decided to document it on the blog. Read more about why and when I started fashion blogging here.

Earlier I used to plan my outfits around black. My dresses/tops would have a black base or I would pair them with black jeans/leggings and/or I would pair them with black handbag and shoes. I had a huge collection of black stuff in clothes, accessories etc. My main reason was the belief that black makes one look slimmer. My life sort of became colourless with black ruling everything like there were no other colours in the world.
I have gotten bored of it now.
So a few weeks ago I picked up this blue and white striped dress from Bossini at Shopper’s Stop. In most plus size clothing brands, I find dark shades ruling the designs with black being the standout colour. I had to search really hard to find something black-less!
I loved the stripes which created a sort of chevron print another plus point being that it was in colours other than black. It was a bit short for me to wear as it is but I still picked it up to wear it with my skinny jeans or leggings.

So today I decided to keep the look a bit sporty with this dress and added my hidden wedge sneakers. I got these a couple of years ago when they just started trending from a brand called Hawskins Stores in ABC Mart in South Korea. These are the least worn shoes from my collection, something that I want to take out for a ride more often but somehow don’t. You might be seeing these in more future OOTD posts! I could have worn a pair of heels but that would have made the outfit go in a different direction than I intended it to. I liked the final outcome!
For accessories, I kept it a bit simple with my star and pearl earrings that I picked from Naughty Cat, statement ring that comes with the Precious Moments perfume from Oriflame, and the disco ball long necklace from a random shop in Korea. One of my close friends also owns this same necklace and we used to wear it so much back in Korea! Anyway.
Since we were shooting this look outdoors, I kept my shades from Vogue Eyewear on.

I kept my hair in a high ponytail to complete the sporty look.
I have been carrying my Anne Klein bag everywhere so many months that with this outfit I was bound to take out my Westside snakeskin clutch. I had picked this up way back in 2009 and this is only the 4th time I have used this!
For makeup I created the strong brows – slightly winged eyes – glossy red lips look. I always love a glowing skin so I also used an illuminator to highlight my cheekbones. I will share more about my makeup and FOTD from this look soon!

There are so many things lying hidden in my wardrobe that I want to pick up again and incorporate in my looks, and feature them on the blog. I feel like I have taken a baby step in a new direction with this outfit and hope to experiment more with my looks. I hope you enjoyed reading this post!
