NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream SMLC08 San Paulo – Review, Swatches, FOTD, Price in India!

If you are a beauty addict, you already know that one of the most popular drugstore brands from the USA has entered the Indian market officially. NYX has a retail store in Mumbai now, opened recently, and they are also available on our favourite online retail store Nykaa. I used to get NYX products from Sephora but I am so glad that now I can get these products directly without the middle man. I got the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream quite some time ago and have been loving the velvety texture and deep pigmentation of it. Here is the detailed review for you!

Claim: NYX velvety smooth Soft Matte Lip Cream delivers a burst of creamy color and sets to a stunning matte finish. Surprisingly durable, lightweight and delightfully creamy, it’s no wonder this sweetly scented formula is a NYX fan favorite.

NYX Soft Matte Lip cream comes in a plastic color-coded tube with a black twist open lid. This is not exactly a liquid lipstick since the formula has a lightweight mousse-like texture. It has a creamy texture and sets as a “soft matte”. By Soft Matte, I mean that it does not dry to a completely matte finish. I like the shade selection in this range. I also feel that the packaging is sturdy and travel-friendly.
I really liked the deep warm pink shade called San Paulo (SMLC08) and decided to pick it up from all of the other amazing shades in this liquid lipstick range. It looks slightly cooler than the shade on the packaging but is beautiful nevertheless. The NYX Soft Matte Lip cream has a sweet scent which is noticeable and can be a deal-breaker for many. The scent did not really bother me. I also liked the sponge-applicator which is big enough to deposit the color on the lips and pointy enough to help color the corners of the lips with ease.

This pink lipstick lasts for 2-3 hours on me. I have to reapply it twice in a day to make it last through the day. I think it does not dry out the lips and also does not bring attention to the dryness of the lips. I like the fact that it is creamy since it feels very lightweight and comforting to the lips. If you are into matte lips (100% matte look) this is not the ideal choice for you. Otherwise, buy whichever shade you like from the collection without any qualms.

I think NYX Soft Matte Lip cream is the perfect type of liquid lipstick. It is not completely matte and does not dry out the lips. It applies well and smells nice (if you like sweet scents). It does not highlight dry patches on the lips and has a good lasting power. It is also relatively affordable and now easily available in stores and online in India. The best way to use it is to scrub the lips and moisturize them and then applying this lipstick.
