Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte lipstick Violet Pink – Review, Swatches, FOTD, Price in India!

Hi everyone, so a few days ago I shared a swatches and first impression post about the Maybelline Vivid Matte Lipsticks. I had picked up the shade Vivid 3 Violet Pink from the range. In my opinion all the 4 shades are gorgeous and totally summer appropriate and perfect for Indian skin. I just gravitate towards various shades of fuscia in lipsticks so I picked up the Vivid 3 Violet Pink shade. I have been using this fuscia lipstick non-stop ever since I got it so here is a review for you!

Maybelline Vivid Matte Lipstick comes in a beautiful matte red and black packaging. The lipstick bullet is matte black with Maybelline printed in white while the lid is matte red. I love the packaging and even though it would be difficult to differentiate between the Vivid Matte lipstick shades, the whole range has a distinct packaging. So it can be spotted just by the matte red cap. The lipstick shade and name are printed on the label at the bottom. I would have loved to see “Vivid Matte” printed on the cap but it is on the plastic and comes off when you open it. Bummer!
Since I have swatched all the shades, I can confidently say that these Maybelline lipsticks have a smooth texture and glide on lips like any regular creamy lipstick. They take some time to set to a velvet-y matte finish and stay put for 4-5 hours. They do stain the lips a little so even when the lipstick wears off, there is a nice stain on the lips. These lipsticks  are also richly pigmented and give a good color payoff in one swipe. I like to do 2-3 swipes for full intensity. They are pretty build-able!

I have used this lipstick for about 9.5 hours in one day. I had to touch up after heavy meals but they did not feather out. There is a little bit of transfer especially immediately after applying the lipstick but nothing major. I felt like similar to most matte lipsticks, the shade Vivid 3 Violet Pink clung to the dry spots on the lips and slightly exaggerated them. I cleaned it off before applying a fresh coat and this was not a problem.
To deal with dryness, I applied a generous amount of lip balm after scrubbing (wiped the balm off before applying lipstick). It helped me get a more even and gorgeous finish; and since there were fewer dry spots, the lipstick looked good even after hours.

Overall, I am happy using the Maybelline Vivid Matte lipstick – Violet Pink. It is vivid, has a creamy texture so glides easily on the lips and sets to a velvety matte finish! It is richly pigmented and leaves a stain behind which looks good even after the lipstick has worn off. I highly recommend these lipsticks!
