L’Oreal Paris has recently launched a few skincare products in their White Perfect range under the label – Magic White. Currently there are two products – Day Cream and Eye cream in this range. You can read all about the Magic White range here. I got to try both of these recently through the brand and I have been using them for the past week. Here is the review of the Magic White Day Cream!
Product: L’Oreal Paris White Perfect Magic White Double Whitening Day Cream SPF19
Claim: Discover a new level of fairness quality. L’Oreal laboratories have developed White Perfect Magic White Eye Cream, an advanced formula that combines powerful technologies to achieve visible double whitening efficacy. Whitening magic beads act on skin surface to immediately boost skin fairness, even skin tone, and visibly reduce pores.
Melanin Vanish Technology is combined with Vitamin C to act in skin layers (Epidermis). This cream refines skin texture and efficiently whitens skin.
Quantity: 50 ml
Price: 799 INR
L’Oreal Paris White Perfect Magic White Day Cream comes in a white and blue squeeze tube with silver twist open lid. The packaging is quite sleek, classy and travel-friendly not to forget hygienic. The tube opening dispenses appropriate amount of product each time.
L’Oreal Paris White Perfect Magic White Day Cream claims to instantly brighten the skin which I must say it delivers on. L’Oreal Paris has attributed this to the Whitening Magic Beads (T102 beads) and Melanin Vanish Technology. The company has not specified exactly what is in the T102 beads and what is MLT (Melanin Vanish Technology though.
The cream does contain minuscule reddish brown beads (I am not sure but they are dark, see the pics below) which make the cream give a peachy brightening effect to the skim. The cream itself is pearly white in color and gives a bright matte finish to the skin.
This cream contains plenty of silicones and added color. It has a light texture which takes a bit of effort in spreading evenly on the skin! This whitening cream also contains parabens, fragrance and talc. Seeing the ingredient list, reckon that this cream may not work great for dry and sensitive skin!
Overall, since I have dry skin I had issues with getting an even finish on the skin with this cream. It made the skin on my T zone look all bright and matte while my cheeks and dry areas around my mouth appeared uneven pasty white. I tried using this with my Etude House Super Collagen Ampoule (a kind of essence to moisturize skin) and it worked just fine. In many ways, this cream reminds me of the Etude House Face Conditioning cream. Like that cream, the L’Oreal Paris White Perfect Magic White Day Cream works nicely as a makeup base!

Since I have dry skin and I am not into whitening products, I will not be repurchasing the L’Oreal Paris White Perfect Magic White Day Cream. In the upcoming season also I would need more hydrating products for my skin.
I think the Magic White Day Cream will work better for normal to oily skin types. For people with dry skin, it will cling a bit to the dry patches accentuating them and also leave an uneven finish. People with sensitive skin should also exercise caution while trying out this cream since it contains silicones, parabens, color and fragrance. I will be reviewing the L’Oreal Paris White Perfect Magic White Eye Cream soon. Stay tuned!
