L’Oreal Paris is on a roll this year and they have recently launched a new range of compacts – L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique Matte Transforming Powder. As the name suggests, these compact give the skin a matte finish. There are 5 shades in this range – G1 Vanilla Ivory, G2 Golden Ivory, G7 Golden Amber, N2 N*de Vanilla , N6 N*ude Honey. I was sent the L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique Matte Transforming Powders a few weeks ago and I have been them trying out ever since. Since I have all the shades, I have also swatched all of them for you. Hope you find the L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique Matte Transforming Powder review and swatches useful!

L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique Matte Transforming Powder swatches:
* Correction in photo – The last shade is N6 (not N7)
L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique Matte Transforming Powder comes in a round plastic double sided compact case. The metallic pink color makes this simple design look special. On top is the Mat Magique powder which is visible from the clear top while the bottom (also made of clear plastic) houses a sponge and a mirror. The packaging is lightweight and travel-friendly. The mirror at the bottom might be a bit of an issue while applying compact for some people (probably while travelling) but I do not mind it!
The L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique compact powder comes in 5 shades and each one is warm toned which make all these suitable for Indian skintones. The shade selection, however, is not very versatile with G7 Golden Amber as the deepest shade. I reckon it would work for NC42 complexion or something. I hope L’Oreal release more shades in this Mat Magique range.
The powder itself is very fine and is very easy to apply to the skin. It is one of the good Matte Powder compacts that I have tried in this price range. The powder is not flaky, in fact I think there is a little bit of velvet-ness to the powder which makes it apply evenly to the skin.
The L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique Matte All-in-one Transforming Powder gives a beautiful matte finish on the skin without a white cast. It does contain SPF 34 PA+++ but I would not depend solely on this face powder for sun protection. I have dry skin so oiliness is not an issue for me but still the Matte effect diminishes after 3-4 hours. Since compacts are travel friendly, this is not an issue as it can be reapplied easily.
I have tried applying this powder compact on its own and it gives a light-coverage to the skin (in addition to matte effect). On my no (or less) makeup days, I like to apply it to my face especially the T Zone to make my skin appear more even! It can compliment any foundation well!

Overall, I am quite pleased with the performance of the newly launched L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique Matte Transforming Powders. I’m NC35 and the shades G2 and G1 (after G2) work really well for my face while N2 is great for me to set my under eye concealer! Since these are matte, I even contour my cheeks with the G7 shade! I am making the most of these powders at the moment. This is one of the few products from L’Oreal Paris in this price range (<500 INR) but it offers good quality and value for money. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for Matte compacts!
