It is that time of the year again, L’Oreal Paris is the official makeup artist of Cannes 2015. To mark their 13th year at Cannes, L’Oreal have released a range of makeup – The Cannes Collection – including gel liners, matte and gloss lipsticks. Some of the shades from the collection are limited edition.

Sonam Kapoor and Katrina Kaif represented Team Matte and Team Gloss amongst the ambassadors of L’Oreal Paris India. It was so much fun and there was even an event in Mumbai. Anyway, so keeping up with the Matte Vs. Gloss theme, the Cannes 2015 collections comes with Matte (L’Oreal Color Riche Moist Matte) and Gloss (L’Oreal Color Riche Extraordinaire) lipsticks. The Moist Matte lipsticks come in a limited edition packaging which is a collector’s delight.

There are 5 shades in the L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Gel Intenza range – Profound Black, Chic Brown, Diamond Black, Royal Blue, Sapphire Blue. The gel liners comes in a glass jar with twist open lid and a brush. The colors have a great color payoff, slide on smoothly, dry fast!
I loved all the three shades released for the #Cannescollection. My favorite of the three is Royal Blue as it shows so well on the eyes and looks dramatic without much effort! I can just apply this eyeliner for eye makeup and be sorted! I am not sure I will be applying them to check for the 36 hour period to test the longevity but I can vouch that they stay put through the day! I have puffy eyelids so I noticed a bit of fading near the folds. The rest of the eyeliner looked fresh even after hours of application! I cannot wait to do some makeup looks incorporating these products!

In case you have been following this blog for a while, you might have read my L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Extraordinaire review. I picked the liquid lipstick when it was first released in India. I am in love with liquid lipsticks especially the L’Oreal Paris Extraordinaire since they are moisturizing to the lips like a lip balm, have a good color payoff like a lipstick and give a beautiful shine like a gloss that makes the lips look fuller. These are basically the 3-in-1 lipsticks every girl likes to own.
For the most part, I have always enjoyed lipsticks by L’Oreal but in the past few years, I used to be bothered by the scent but I am so glad that the good lipstick formula comes with a better scent now. And these lipsticks smells nice even though that is not what we are looking for in the lipstick. It still adds to the experience! Out of the three, I am most excited by the Plum Quartet shade (I am also terrified of it) since it is not the kind of shade I usually wear. But I am an adventurer so I am up for the challenge!

L’Oreal Moist matte lipsticks have a huge following! They are soft, easy to apply and set fast for a matte look. I have loved the rich pigmentation of these lipsticks and have my favorite shade – Raspberry Syrup – as a first choice for the day I want to make a statement. The Matte lipsticks from the Cannes collection come in the limited edition packaging. The packaging is beautiful and luxurious to say the least! It is one of the things each makeup packaging connoisseur (like yours truly) needs.
From my experience, I think the formula of the lipsticks has remained the same so we can be sure that these are quality lipsticks in more royal packaging. The lipstick bullets comes in a cardboard packaging which reveals a velvet packaging which actually contains the lipstick. The lipstick bullet comes with the shade button and is adorned with Swarovski elements on one side. If packaging means anything to you, I urge you to check it out at your local L’Oreal counters and decide, the formula is spectacular anyway!

Lincoln Rose shade from the L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Moist Matte lipsticks was a favorite from the Cannes 2014 collection. It is the same Moist Matte formula that has become my favorite over the past few months. The color is the gorgeous classic red! I already own lipsticks from this collection since they were released in India so I hope L’Oreal will add more shades soon!
I will be doing more makeup looks, detailed reviews on these products soon! The reviews given here are more like first impression reviews so take them with a grain of salt! I am super excited to see the looks worn by the L’Oreal Paris Brand Ambassadors at the Cannes 2015 film festival. Katrina makes her first appearance, Sonam has done it 3 times before already and of course Aishwarya has always been a regular since 2000! I am expecting them to rule the red carpet. Of the international brand ambassadors, I am a huge fan of Blake Lively!
