Kiehl's Amino Acid Hair Conditioner – Review

Kiehl’s is a popular brand in Europe for their amazing natural skincare, haircare and beauty products. I had read great things about Kiehl’s Silk Groom Hair Serum in all of 2010 year on various beauty blogs I followed. This made an impression on me and I decided to try Kiehl’s products whenever I could lay my hands on them.
I have wavy hair which is thick and voluminous but it sometimes looks rough so I am always in a lookout for a set of haircare products that are meant for dry and frizzy hair. Recently I came across a Kiehl’s outlet in Lotte Department Store near my home in Seoul.
I tested various products in the outlet but the prices were exorbitantly high. I knew the original price of the products so it was definitely just due to the import.
I decided to buy something only if I liked it a lot. Sadly Kiehl’s Silk Groom serum was sold out at that moment so I bought Kiehl’s Amino Acid conditioner instead.

Kiehl’s Amino Acid Conditioner with ocnut and Jojoba oils

Kiehl’s Amino Acid conditioner is meant for all hair types and boasts of pure Coconut and Jojoba oils. As a girl who loves coconut oil, I knew I had to get it. I have used it for 4 months (and ran out of it) and now I think I am ready to review it properly.

Product Claim: This gentle, daily conditioner is formulated with Wheat Protein and Amino Acids for a light, creamy texture that imparts a healthy-looking shine to hair without weighing it down. With Pure Coconut and Jojoba oils, our silicone-free preparation helps maintain hair’s natural moisture balance to further strengthen hair and improve manageability.

My Experience with Kiehl’s Amino Acid Conditioner: The product has a thick creamy texture and smells of coconut oil in the best possible way. However after washing out the conditioner from my hair, my hair did not smell of coconuts. So even if you are not a big fan of your hair smelling like coconuts, you can still use it.
The “Directions of Use” do say that this conditioner can be used on the scalp and hair but I never used it on my scalp. I do agree with the claim on the moisturizing properties of this conditioner, I definitely noticed my hair feeling softer after using this conditioner.
It being silicone-free is an added benefit. Natural products are always less harsh and damaging than hair products full of sulphates and silicones.
Rating – 3.5/5
Recommend – Yes
Repurchase – Depends
Despite my good experience with this conditioner, I do believe that there are better conditioners available out there. I switch my hair products every time I run out of them so repurchase is always a big “question mark” for me.
I am currently using Organix Argan Oil Shampoo, Conditoner and Penerating Oil and loving it!
