I have never been too regular with stating my favorites on my blog regularly but I think it is a good idea to talk about what I use day in day out on a monthly easy. As a beauty blogger, it is easy to be focused on trying new things but no one uses a different product everyday, there is bound to be a regularity and some personal HG products. I especially liked doing it for my 2013 makeup favorites. So I am thinking of keeping a monthly favorites and weekly most used products series on this blog. The Monthly Favorites post will go up in the beginning of the subsequent month while the weekly most used will go up every Sunday. After this long introduction, let’s get started with what I was using and loving in January 2014!
January 2014 favorites:
- It’s Skin Skincell Clinical Solution Serum
- Banila Co. Clean it Zero Cleansing Balm
- L’Occitane Almond Milk Concentrate
- Style Pen Nail Polish remover (Strawberry scented)
- Missha M Perfect Cover B.B. cream
- Missha The Style Liquid Sharp Liner
- Skinfood Fresh Fruit Lip & Cheek – Grapefruit
- Maybelline Color Tattoo – 40 Tenacious Teal
- The Face Shop Make Me Star waterproof gel liner – Teal, Blue, Purple
- Etude House Candy Stick Sweet Recipe (Pink)
- Etude House Dear my Blooming Lips-talk PK015 (Dazzling Pink)
- Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero-smudge Lengthening Mascara – 01 Black
- Estee Lauder Pure Color gloss – 46 Sun burst Sparkle
I think some of the products from my 2013 favorites have made way to the favorites list of January! Some of these will remain my favorites forever!
The best find and bargain of the month was the It’s Skin Skincell Clinical Solution Serum! I got it at 50% off, it has been keeping my skin hydrated. It is a fragrance-free, Dermatologically tested product that I love and trust this a lot! I will use it for a few more weeks before reviewing it here so keep an eye on this space!
I got the Banila Co. Clean it Zero Cleansing balm this month and it was my first time using a cleansing balm. I love using this one over cleansing creams, lotions or oils. I am yet to review it on the blog but until now I have been loving it a lot!
L’Occitane Almond Milk Concentrate has been favorite since the day I started using it. It is so light-weight and moisturizing I cannot get enough of it! I am almost half-way through already! Since it is quite expensive, now I am using it on the days I am going out or for special occasions only.
Style Pen Nail Remover pads (Strawberry) have come handy to remove glitter nail paints, nail stickers and stuff that is difficult to get off the nails! I hate rubbing my nails with cotton pads dipped in nail polish remover. It takes so much time but somehow, these thin Nail Remover pads take off the most stubborn nail polish easily. I do not have to scrub off my nail. And one thin little pad works for my all of my fingers!
I am in love with Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream. I am using #21 Light Beige otheriwise I usually go for #23 Natural beige. I love how natural it looks, coverage and the finish of this BB cream. It is my absolute favorite right besides my Skin79 Super+ Beblesh Balm (Hot Pink).
I love me some black liquid liner. The first makeup product I ever started using, it is still my favorite thing to use in makeup and for this month, I used my Missha The Style Liquid Sharp Liner. The brush is fine so it is easy to make a thin line and the formula is easy to apply. I find it easy to create bold eyeliner as easily as the fine line!
I do not care about makeup rules and love using peachy blushes even in winter! For added glow and natural finish, I opt for Skinfood Fresh Fruit Lip & Cheek – Grapefruit a lot. This fades through the day but I love how natural it looks. It give s a healthy flush to the cheeks. I have not used the other shade as much (Berry) as this one. I do not like using this shade on my lips though.
I had been working on a small project for my YouTube channel and my go to shade for the looks was Maybelline Color Tattoo – 40 Tenacious Teal. Despite not being Teal, it is a beautiful statement shade. The lasting power just amazes me and I love how well it holds through the day!
Returning favorites! I have never found more pigmented, beautiful and affordable pencil liners than The Face Shop Make Me Star pencil liners in Green (05), Indigo Blue (03), Disco Purple (04)!
Etude House Sweet Recipe Candy Stick (pink) is my absolute favorite to give my lips a hint of color with a glossy shine and loads of moisture! For the days I want to make a statement with my lips, I use Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips Talk PK015 –Dazzling Pink!
Another returning favorite – Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero-smudge Lengthening Mascara – 01 Black is the only one I used in January. I do have a couple of mascaras but I love the lengthening effect of this one and have been using it every single day I wear makeup!
That completes the things I used the most in January 2014. I am glad I used a lot of my favorites alongwith trying new things. Let’s see if any of these make a comeback next month in February favorites!
