A few months ago, I picked up a travel set from Forest Essentials, the Indian Rose Absolute travel essentials set (details here); I used and reviewed 4 of the 6 products from this set so today I am going to review the Forest Essentials Silkening Shower Wash! I have linked the reviewed products below, the only product I am yet to review is the Forest Essentials Aloe Vera & Sandalwood Sunscreen Lotion. So let’s get into the review of this Shower Wash!
Product: Forest Essentials Silkening Shower Wash Indian Rose Absolute
Claim: Forest Essentials Shower Wash Indian Rose Absolute contains carefully selected herbs, as per Ancient Ayurvedic texts. They are known for their nourishing and cleansing properties.Herbs like Genhu, Sonapatha and Bamboo gently cleanse the skin. Anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of Bala and Gokharu heal and repair the skin by preventing it from effects of free radicals.
Quantity: 200 ml
Price: 775 INR
One of the biggest selling point of this product for me is that it 7-free: Sulphates, Parabens, Petroleum, GMO, Formaldehyde, PEGS, artificial colour, synthetic fragrance and animal testing! So after earning these major brownie points, all that is left for review is if it works.
This body cleanser is a clear gel like liquid with smells of roses! I have used it with and without loofah and I like using it with the Loofah better. It does lather a little and I do feel clean but the coconut and olive oil present in the ingredients do not let the cleansing effect lead to stripping of moisture. So it works for me but may not be suitable for people used to the “squeaky clean” feeling with SLS-based body cleansers.
I like the delicate rose scent of this whole range; in fact the Forest Essentials Indian Rose Absolute is probably the only range of rose-scented cosmetics that I love. Most rose scents are too strong and give me headaches.
A tiny little cons of this product might be the packaging. The packaging is practical and classy to look at but the plastic is a little too tight and once you are half-way through, it is not easy to squeeze out the product for use everytime. Placing the closed bottle upside down in a container filled with warm water does speed up the process though!

I like the elegant and travel-friendly packaging (since I used the one from my travel essentials set), soothing rose fragrance, gentle cleansing of this product in addition to it obviously being Ayurvedic, created from best ingredients and free of sulphates, parabens, colors etc. I would definitely try more bath and skincare products from Forest Essentials!
