Let’s be clear, when we think about soap, body wash, shower cream, shower gel or shower oil, we think of a product that foams when it comes into contact with water. Well, that is exactly what I thought before I went to the Forest Essentials store. And I found that there was a whole range of products to choose from!
Forest Essentials Bath & Shower oils:
- Oudh and Green Tea Bath & Shower Oil
- Indian Rose Absolute Bath & Shower Oil
- Mysore Sandalwood Bath & Shower Oil
- Madurai Jasmine and Mogra Bath & Shower Oil
- Mashobra and Honey Shower Bath & Oil
- Bengal Tuberose Bath & Shower Oil
- Nargis Bath & Shower Oil
I was tempted to pick up a couple of other shower oils but then decided to stick to my favorite scent – sandalwood – and bought the Forest Essentials Mysore Sandalwood Shower Oil. I have been using it for about 2 months now so here is my review!

How to use the Forest Essentials Mysore Sandalwood Bath & Shower Oil:
Use this shower oil on wet skin in the shower after cleansing, or pour two cap-fulls into warm bath water to seal moisture in the skin.
Forest Essentials Mysore Sandalwood Bath & Shower Oil comes in a clear plastic bottle with twist open gold lid. The details about the product are displayed tastefully on two sides of the bottle. The packaging is very classy! The bottle also has a plastic stopper with hole that dispenses just the right amount of the product. This bath oil itself is amber in colour!
As I have mentioned in my post about the Forest Essentials Honey & Rosewater Facial Cleanser, I was on the lookout for a shower oil when I went to the store. I was short on shower gels and going by the term shower oil, I was planning to replace my shower gel with shower oil! Once I came back home with my purchase and read the labels, I found out that the Forest Essentials Shower Oils are body oils in heavenly scents, not meant for foaming!
Of course I still embraced it.
I tried using it after taking the shower when my skin was still damp and felt that this shower oil performed a lot like Lush Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner. Once I spread it on my body, I still washed myself to remove any excess of oil and then dried off with my towel.
This is not a very heavy oil and spreads very well on the skin. You also do not need a lot to moisturize the whole body! But my issue with using it on damp skin is that some oil is transferred to my towel. So I started using it immediately after towel drying my skin. On days I felt like pampering myself, I used to put in 10 ml of this oil in my bucket for bath. It still moisturized my skin and left a heavenly sandalwood scent!
Of course it can be used in bath tubs in the same way!
