Forest Essentials Intensive Eye Cream with Anise

Working in the IT sector, staying up late till night, and reading books in spare time made my eyes appear tired and dull. I also developed fine lines and darkness in the under eye area in my mid-20s. I had heard so many good things about eye creams in the past too but I only got hooked on using eye creams in 2014. Since then, I have been trying to be consistent about keeping my under eye area hydrated and the latest thing on my vanity is the Forest Essentials Intensive Eye cream with Anise. Here’s a detailed review for you!

Forest Essentials Intensive Eye Cream With Anise Review

Claim: This Eye Cream is an innovative formula specially designed for the delicate eye area. Active extracts of Papaya and Potato starch help deliver hydration and moisture to the delicate eye area. Anise and Chakshushya help to smooth and nourish skin, reducing the appearance of dry, dehydrated lines. It reduces dark circles, diminishes puffiness, firms and tones area around the eyes.
With top quality and good-for-you ingredients – Aqua, cold-pressed Almond Kernel Oil, Olive Fruit oil, Wheat Germ Oil, Aloe Vera Lead Juice, Cucumber Fruit Extract, Potato Starch, Papaya Fruit Extract, Anise Seed Extract, Vitamin E – it is definitely going to work for all skin types.
This Forest Essentials eye cream comes in a clear plastic tub with a twist open gold lid. The packaging has changed because I remember that when I first saw this eye cream, it used to come in a glass tub form. Anyway. The packaging is still classy yet simple. The mouth of the tub has a small lid that protects the product from spilling. If I am not wrong (since I have had the product for over a few months and threw away the outer packaging and stuff) it came with a spatula too.

Forest Essentials Intense Eye CreamThe spatula fell down one day from my hand and I was too lazy to pick it up ad wash and reuse it. So I threw it away. Using a spatula and keeping the small plastic stopper can satisfy your “hygiene pangs” 😉 I totally started dipping my finger into the product to use it twice a day. Eek!
The scent of this eye cream was negligible which is a great thing since an eye cream must not be too fragrance-y and irritate the eyes. I also loved the slightly thick texture of the cream as compared to a few gel-based eye creams even though this was not greasy or heavy at all. It absorbed well and kept the skin in my under eye area soft and supple.

As far as the claims go, I did not notice any difference in my dark circles or the puffiness that I have in the morning. I do think that this eye cream performed well to keep my under eye area moisturized.
Despite this eye cream being costlier than a typical drugstore eye cream, I think the simple fact that there is so much of it, you will find it hard to finish it off not to forget that it performs well. It took me more than 6 months of everyday (twice a day) use to finally finish it.

I have an oily under eye area while the rest of the skin on my face is dry, my under eye area still gets dry for some unknown reason especially in winter.  A good skincare product such as the Forest Essentials Intense Eye cream with Anise keeps my eye area moisturised without making it feel heavy. Despite the high price tag of Rs. 2200, I still recommend it to skincare junkies who are looking for a workhorse eye cream. I am not going to repurchase this eye cream (hello, it took me 6 months to finish it off, I need to try something else to keep my sanity) even though I loved it. But I know it is one of the dependable eye creams that I can go back to whenever I want.
