Forest Essentials Floral Makeup Remover REVIEW
Forest Essentials has some of the most amazing skincare products and that is why I got their cleansing oil from Amazon recently after running out of the Innisfree Green Tea Moisture Cleansing oil. Here’s is the detailed review of the Forest Essentials Makeup Remover Oil based on my experience.
Product: Forest Essentials Floral Makeup Remover Oil
Price: 675 INR
Claim: This makeup remover is 100% natural with fresh organic oils infused with flowers and herbs to remove makeup gently and effectively.
Ingredients: Jojoba Seed oil, Olive Fruit Oil, Sunflower oil, Wheatgerm oil, Jasmine flower oil, Rose Flower Extract, Vitamin E.
I have been a huge fan of the Forest Essentials products. I cannot remember a product I did not like from them, and some of their products remain in my all-time favourites list. So, when I ran out of my makeup remover, I went on Amazon to search for a Forest Essentials makeup remover. Since I have dry skin, I looked for cleansing oil.
I came across this one and immediately ordered it. I expected great, no just good or average, results from this product. It received it ecstatically and started using it from the same day. The packaging is pretty basic. It comes in a clear plastic bottle with a golden twist open lid. The bottle has a plastic stopper with two small openings that dispense the product when you hold it at an angle. The lid closes well and even though I have not actually traveled with it, I think this is a travel-friendly packaging.
The first thing I noticed once I poured the cleansing oil on my palm was the relatively thick texture and strong floral scent. I am one of those people who love scents and can stand the strongest perfumes and scents. But let me tell you, this scent is nothing short of “over the top floral”. I still used it on my face using a cotton ball to remove my makeup. The makeup, except for my waterproof mascara, did come off easily. I tried using it again to remove my mascara but the product was unable to dissolve and take it off.
I used olive oil to remove my mascara (yes, I did get blurry vision until I washed my face). I then used a foaming face wash to remove the makeup + cleansing oil residue. I have used this makeup cleansing oil for almost a month now. The scent is still too strong for me. No matter how hard I try, I cannot stand it. It removes dirt and makeup well but getting off mascara, waterproof or not, is still an issue.
This oil does not emulsify when it comes in contact with water. It feels quite heavy too. Having used the light-weight and no-residue leaving Innisfree Green tea cleansing oil, this makeup remover did not impress me much.

My experience with the Forest Essentials Floral Makeup Remover oil just goes to show that every brand has its hits and misses. This makeup remover was a miss for me. I will not recommend it to anyone especially people with oily or sensitive skin. People who regularly wear waterproof mascara might also like to stay away from it. Of course, you must smell it at the store to see if you will be okay with the scent when you use the product. I still have a lot of the product left. I cannot wait to finish it and buy something else!

Such a strong smell? Yikes. I need to skip it just for that.
