Hi everyone, today I have a different type of post to share with you.
Let me first explain my recent absence from blogging and social media interactions – two of the members of my in-laws family contracted Dengue in the past few weeks and we are also facing internet connectivity issues on a daily basis (thanks MTNL). But I have tried to do at least a couple of posts a week. Coming back to the agenda…
I have been thinking about it for a long time, but something or the other always stopped me from translating this dream into reality. I have been wanting to become a fashion blogger for a long time (almost as long as I nurtured my dream to be a beauty blogger).
I have always been interested in dressing up, not so much in terms of trends, but I loved putting together outfits. Growing up, I always chose my own outfits and accessories. So I was interested in showcasing my style here on the blog. But…
I have been chubby for a long time in my life. It did not bother me as much, even though I wanted to be leaner and healthier, until I came across too many people who tried to make me feel bad about how much I weighed and how I looked. Of course it is my fault for letting them drag me down.
I started hiding myself under layers of clothing, trying to be invisible, wearing black and other dark colours all the time and also not putting much effort in dressing up.
My spirits were so low, I started believing that there was no use in presenting myself well, physically.
It took me some time to get over those inhibitions and fears but I have recovered. Now I have decided to play up my strengths and live my life to the fullest.
YES, I am not slim.
NO, I am not proud of my plus-size but I am comfortable in my own skin.
This is who I am and how I look. And this is the only body I have got for my entire existence on planet Earth and I am going to be at peace with it even if I cannot love my body right now.
Of course it is slightly easy to dress up in life normally than presenting yourself on the World Wide Web for the whole world to see. But then that’s the challenge I want to take.
I want to dress up well, like I have always wanted to, so I will do that turning my deaf ears to the critics.
I may not be a fashionista, but I have been told by countless people that I look polished and have good taste in clothes. So maybe it will translate on the blog as well.
My first official outfit post is coming up next on the blog. And I plan on doing these periodically on the blog like my skincare and makeup posts.
Let me admit that I am yet to figure out this fashion blogging thing out. I am no pro at posing, I might even suck at it right now but I hope to learn and grow with each post. I do not know which direction this will take me but I hope to thoroughly enjoy it. Expect to see a mix of casual and ethnic wear on the blog. I would be deeply grateful for your support and encouragement!
I hope you would enjoy reading these posts! Do let me know your thoughts in the comment section.

[…] I know this is not exactly my first post featuring my outfit, but it is definitely the first one where I have shared an outfit with the intent of entering the field of fashion blogging. Read more details about this in my Fashion Blogging & Other Updates post. […]

[…] My go to look has always been the classy-chic look. I automatically pick up pieces that are non-fussy and do not need much effort to create an outfit from. I have recently started experimenting with my looks – outfit-wise specifically – and also decided to document it on the blog. Read more about why and when I started fashion blogging here. […]
