Who doesn’t like a cupcake? Especially if it comes with ZERO calories? haha! I fell in love with the Etude House Sweet Recipe Cupcake eyes – baked eyeshadow duos recently. They were released in 2013 but I hesitated to buy baked eyeshadows. I had many baked eyeshadow duos and my favorites belonged to The Body Shop and Maybelline until Etude House happened to me 🙂 a few days ago! These come in a cute cupcake shaped tin packaging with the flavors on the packaging ruling the colors inside. I decided to get the swatches of all the 5 duos available in the stores and swatch them to showcase the beautiful shades to everyone. Enjoy!

PK001 – Sweet Berry Lemon Mousse

I had high hopes for the lemon-y gold shade. It looked really unique in the packaging but the swatch was a little disappointing for me! The pink is not that special either and a good  yellow gold could have taken this duo to another level in my opinion. I skipped buying this!

BR402 – Chocochip Sweet Mint

I am not too much into buying clashing shades! I might have liked to apply a matte taupe in my crease with mint on my lid but having two shimmer-y shades in one duo that belong to two different worlds is not my cup of tea.
The mint did not show up much either. And since I have darker lids, this color will just show up as a silvery glitter 🙁 Skipped this too!

OR201 – Fresh Mango Tango

Orange on the lids? Hmm. Interesting. But the swatch is not rich enough to show up on my lids. And since the pink is not very deep (very peach-y) the shades would show up very similar on my eyelids so despite liking the combo, I skipped buying this eyeshadow duo too!

BR401 – Sugar Maple Syrup Choco

I picked up BR401 Sugar Maple Syrup Choco duo and fell in love with it. My favorite combination! Well-pigmented. Shimmery but soft and easy to blend! This duo has both satin-finish shades (they are shimmery but go on smoothly). The rest have at least one shade a bit powder-y.

PP501 – Blueberry & Strawberry

Another potential favorite that went down my list after swatching. Where is the gorgeous lilac? I see two different shades of pink and a whole lot of shimmer 🙁
I love shimmery eyeshadows (prefer matte in crease but for the lids, shimmer or satin-finish all the way!). So the pigmentation, color combination, packaging of BR401 Sugar Maple Syrup Choco won me over! I would have picked up the PP401 (Pink and purple) and the PK001 (yellow gold and pink) if they had swatched as beautifully as they looked.
I would love to have access to all the brand new shades for each line and then swatch and test them but since I do everything from my own money, I only buy things that impress me! I hope this post was useful to you and helped you find your own
