Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream Review

Update 30-April-2014:  Please read my updated review at  https://rkescapades.com//review-etude-house-precious-mineral-bright-fit-bb-cream-updated
Hi everyone! Today I am here for the Etude House Precious Mineral BB cream review. Etude House is a low end Korean cosmetic brand known for their cute packaging and quirky product names and concepts. Their stores are predominantly pink and resemble a Barbie’s dream house. This brand is targeted towards teenage girls and young women. But I am shameless and despite being in my late twenties, I love Etude House!

I had heard great things about Korean BB creams so without doing too much research I bought this BB cream from Etude House. I bought it from Shilla Duty free at the Incheon International Airport before leaving Korea in December.
The main reason I bought this was because it was available in many shades where as the BB creams in Nature Republic and The Face Shop (which were the only brands in my budget at the time) had 2-3 shades.
I got colored matched at the store and bought shade #3. This was my first ever BB cream. I had never even used a tinted moisturizer except for The Body Shop Tinted Glow Enhancer so I did not know how to choose a BB cream and what to expect. I just picked up a Korean BB cream assuming it to be great.
When I came back home and applied it all over my face, I found out that it was dark for me and did not even give me sun kissed glow, the color just didn’t suit me. I wore it the next day hoping for different results but my friend also noticed the color difference 🙁 And it did not last the whole day as I expected it to. So basically this particular Korean BB cream is not superior to other BB creams in the market?
But there a couple of plus points to this BB cream, it comes in a lot of shades (pick up the right one). It has an SPF 30 and PA ++ which means it gives a medium protection against UV rays of the sun, perfect number for winter. And it comes in a pump form. I hate to squeeze out foundations from tubes. The pump spits out sufficient product at a time, you do not touch the rest of the liquid and do not waste any. It was a waste of my 16000 KRW but it is a lesson for me to be careful with selecting my makeup products. I should remember to rely on my own judgment and not follow what sales assistants say.
This is a medium coverage BB cream and works better for oily skin type. It emphasized my dry spots or dry out my skin. This was the first BB cream I have tried so I will check out a few more before writing off Korean BB creams. I think going one shade lighter can make a big difference for me. This is an Etude House best seller so I am so sad to see it not do anything for my skin!
