Etude House has launched a new range of products in April 2014 and one of the standouts in my opinion are the Etude House Play 101 Pencils. These are the multi-purpose pencils that can be used to create a full makeup look! There are 50 shades in this range and each pencil can be used in multiple ways (multi-purpose duh?). I got the chance to get a few details on these Play 101 Pencils so I thought of sharing them with you!

Product: Etude House Play 101 Pencil
Details: Gel-type pencils that come with vivid colors and various textures for easy and fun makeup play.

Quantity: 0.5 g (0.02 oz.)
Packaging: The pencils are in grey color and the bottom part which comes with a built-in sharpener is the same color as the pencil shade. The pencils are labelled with just numbers, no names. And the name is printed only on one side of the pencil.
I have seen this auto-pencil with sharpener concept mostly in high end eyeliner pencils so I really appreciate this and having the color on the packaging is really handy when it comes to differentiating these from the collection!

The 50 shades are divided into 5 different groups: Cream, Matte, Glitter, Gloss, Shimmer

Cream (13) : 1, 11, 14, 16, 17, 19, 20, 22, 24, 30, 37, 49, 50

Matte (8): 7, 8, 9, 10, 18, 22, 24, 32, 33, 42

Glitter (20): 2, 3, 4, 5, 13, 26, 27, 28, 31, 34, 35, 36, 38, 39, 40, 41, 43, 44, 46, 48

Gloss (5): 12, 15, 21, 23, 25

Shimmer (4): 6, 29, 45, 47

Etude House has also created a list of suggested use of the pencils. Here is the list:

Eyeliner /eyeshadow: 1, 2

Concealer: 7, 8

Lip/Cheek: 11 to 30

Multi purpose: 31 to 50

Pony, a Korean youtuber, worked with Etude House to create 3 beautiful makeup looks using these Play 101 pencils. The three looks are: Baby Doll, Angel’s Drop, Mini Retro. The product breakdown is also available for these looks but I cannot find it right now. I will update this when I find it! I plan on making a swatch video for the Play 101 pencils like I did for Color Lips-fit! I will also do a post with photos of all swatches soon.
