CC creams have been in rage everywhere in Korea for quite sometime now and I somehow managed to stay away from the trend. I know CC creams are supposed to work better for dry skin than BB creams but I somehow always preferred BB creams. The first CC cream I ever bought was the Etude House Correct & Care GLOW CC cream and it did not work well for me, in fact I was so disappointed, I decided to try many CC creams and find out if they are all the same. So read on and find out if the Etude House Moistfull Super Collagen CC cream worked any different for me!

Etude House released the Moistfull Super Collagen skincare and makeup line after the success of their Moistfull Collagen line. In fact the Etude House Moistfull Collagen cream was voted the best Etude House product of 2013. Currently there are 3 products in this line – Moistfull Super Collagen cream, CC cream and Ampoule Essence.
I bought a trial set of the Super Collagen skincare line which contained sample sizes of all the 3 products mentioned above. It cost me less than 5$ I think and each of the product has lasted me more than 7 uses. I will be reviewing the Ampoule Essence and Cream at a later date but since I finished using this CC cream, I thought I would review it today itself as the experience is fresh.
Firstly, this is not a usual CC cream. It is not a white cream with color adjusting properties, in fact it comes in a tinted form like a BB cream. Secondly, this cream has a slightly thicker texture than CC creams and is more creamy like its BB counterparts. I was expecting a more gel-like consistency. Thirdly, it is not very moisturizing, at least not as much as what you imagine when you hear “Super Collagen”.
By reading the 3 points mentioned above, you might have thought I did not like this CC cream but actually I did (gotcha)!
And the reasons are pretty simple. I liked the creamy consistency and the coverage I got from this CC cream. It is light to medium coverage while I have never seen the same results, in terms of coverage, from other CC creams I have tried. I have dry skin but enjoyed using this with less-than-expected moisturizing properties. It enabled me to test this CC cream in Indian summer! And I absolutely love the slight hint of glow that this gives to my skin.
The lasting power is also satisfactory. I find it stays put for 4-5 hours without fading and slowly disappear (worn satisfactorily 10 hours at a stretch) which is a good lasting power for a CC cream.
This CC cream comes in two shades – N02 Light Beige and W13 Natural Beige. I am NC35 and somehow Light Beige (N02) worked better for me even though in all BB cream etc. I go for Natural Beige (W13) or higher. So I think the shades are running darker? This also means, it might not work for very light and dark skintones.
The consistency of this CC cream is a little tricky to work with. I find that it works best when I spread little dots all over my face and then blend it. Applying it like a normal face cream makes it appear streaky!
Since I have used this for 7-8 times, I cannot comment on the whitening properties or any major change in the elasticity of the skin.
Rating: 3.75/5

There is plenty that goes against this CC cream but I ended up liking how it looked on me. I still did not give it 5/5 because it does not tick all the boxes. And as I have said it before, this is not a total must have, no makeup item (ever) really is! But this works well without a cream/ moisturizer underneath. And if you have good skin then you can totally get away with only using this – no concealers, creams, foundations required!
Have you tried the Etude House Super Collagen CC cream? Do you like BB creams or CC creams?
