Etude House Dust CUT skincare range – Products Details

I am so excited to share the details about the Etude House Dust Cut skincare products (Check out the announcement post). I was really curious about this particular range because the claims were really interesting and unique. Most skincare products talk about whitening, anti-ageing, etc. so a range of products that save the skin from dust is interesting!

So I asked a the friendly store owner of Etude House for details (I frequent this store so I am on good terms with the owner and the staff). He gave me a lot of details and also connected me to someone from Etude House itself! I was beyond excited and asked as many questions I could about the line and each of the products individually. So here is what I comprehended from that discussion.

Disclaimer: I am not associated with Etude House. No one is paying me to write this. I am just passionate about skincare.

Dust CUT Skincare Range Origin (and reasons):

Dust and pollution has become a big problem in Korea especially in spring when the Asian Dust (read it on Wikipedia for details) deteriorates the air quality even more. So Etude House came up with a skin defense system where the product will create a protective shield against the skin. There are 4 products in this line:

  • Dust Cut Finish Cream
  • Dust Cut Facial Mist
  • Dust Cut Micro Foam Cleanser
  • Dust Cut masksheet

At the time of writing this post, there are 3 products available in the stores. The Dust Cut masksheet is coming soon.
NOTE: The claims mentioned are taken from the packaging of each product and photos were taken in store (except the facial mist).

Etude House Dust CUT Finish Cream

Claim: This is a finish cream that protects skin from harmful environment by forming a protective outer film and providing care with its plant extracts that clarify dull and exhausted skin.
Quantity: 65 g
Price: 14000 KRW
Details: The Dust CUT finish cream can be used for day and night as a face moisturizer in the last step of skincare. During the day, it creates a barrier on the skin so that the dust in the air cannot penetrate this layer and clog the pores of the skin. When applied at night time, the Finish Cream helps protect against dust from the bedding. There are plenty of plant extracts in this cream to nourish and moisturize the skin.

My thoughts

I am not an authority on cosmetics but I think I have read a lot about skin care products and ingredients and have a clue (hehe). Based on the information I received, I feel that this is an interesting skin care line and if it delivers what it promises, we will all have lesser blackheads, breakouts and other skin problems to deal with (that occur because of external factors like dust, pollution).

I asked a lot of questions and my judgment says that the Dust CUT facial mist will be the best bet for most people. Since it will be the last step before going out, I think it will help protect the skin better.

And I am confident that the masksheet can do a lot of cleansing (because of charcoal) but I am not sure about the Finish cream or the foaming cleanser.

Face foaming cleanser comes before other skincare and makeup stages so I am worried that skincare products like serum/ampoule or cream will not be able to penetrate the skin (breakthrough the barrier of the Dust Cut foaming cleaner) to moisturize properly.

For Finish Cream, I think it can be a good product but how effective is it going to be under makeup? I got the Dust CUT facial mist and will do a haul soon (and review in the coming weeks)

I have asked a couple more questions about the Dust CUT products that are yet to be answered and I am expecting an email next week with the answers.

There is no information about the Etude House Dust CUT products in English (even on the Etude house English website) so I hope my research was helpful for you.

What do you think about the Etude House skin care products? Which product will you buy from the Dust CUT line?

  1. Hi, do you think you could take a picture of the list of ingredients behind of those products? I’m very curious about the active ingredients which protect our skin against pollution…

  2. Hello! I wanna ask you something, hehe. Do you think I can apply BB cream together with the finish cream or not? Thanks!

    • Hi! Yes you can. The Etude House Dust Cut finish cream is made to be used like any other face cream in skincare. SO you can use it after cleansing (and/or toning) before applying BB cream!

  3. Do you happen to have the the full list of the ingredients? Does the mist have paraben and alcohol? Thx
