I have always been more of lipstick-gal than a lipgloss-gal but lately I have been enjoying the light-weight, sheer color from various glosses I own. I have been using my Etude House lip glosses – Dear My Crystal Gloss, Dear My Enamel gloss and Dear My Milky Gloss in rotation. Today I am going to share my thoughts on the Etude House Dear My Milky Gloss. I own only one shade from the range MPK002.

I believe Etude House released the Dear My makeup range sometime in 2012 when Dara was their brand ambassador. I first got the CRD301 shade from the Dear my Crystal Gloss and liked it. So I went on to try out other shades from the same line and some new shades in the other gloss ranges – Dear My Enamel Gloss and Dear My Milky Gloss.
The Dear My Milky Gloss range was introduced with 8 shades but I believe fewer are available in the market now. The glosses in this range are non-shimmery and have a creamy consistency. I swatched all the available shades (then published a swatch post) and picked up the MPK002 (Raspberry Latte) shade. Since it looked the most pigmented and opaque to me in the swatches, I expected it to give me a “my lips but better” look. But sadly my pigmented lips “shine” through 🙁
I do like non-shimmery shades but this color is not opaque enough for me and gives the appearance of oily lips 🙁 I really like the citrus-y sweet smell of the gloss but it fades pretty quickly. The gloss tastes good (not criteria for review though and I am weird like that) and is slightly sticky. The gloss is light-weight but does transfer everywhere.
The lasting power of the gloss is pretty basic and I reapply it every couple of hours for fresh appearance. The packaging is also not as princess-y as I have now come to expect of Etude House. I, however, do appreciate that the color is visible through the packaging.
The applicator is a typical doe-foot applicator which is big enough to deposit the gloss in one swipe and small enough to fit the corners of the mouth. I did not notice any bleeding or smearing from this gloss and the consistency is thicker than many other water-y or gel-like glosses. As time goes on, the gloss can get a bit goop-y so I now run my finger slightly to remove any excess from the lips.

I have been using this gloss in conjunction with my Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipstick 03 Crystal Pink. The lipstick gives a nice hint of color to my lips (plus hides the uneven pigmentation) and this gloss adds a (non glossy) milky shine! For the price, it is a decent gloss but Etude House have delivered better products than this in the past so I expect much more from them. I will not be purchasing any more shades from this line. And I am going to review the Etude House Dear My Enamel Gloss and Crystal Gloss lipglosses soon. Stay tuned!
