City Color Be Matte lipstick – Review, Swatches, Price in India
Hi everyone, today I am going to review a lipstick that I received in my FabBag a couple of months ago. This is one of the things that I chose from the options given to me by FabBag since they run a “Choose your makeup for FabBag” option frequently. I am talking about the City Color “Be Matte” Matte lipstick. I picked the shade M23 Lana since it looked like the perfect shade for winter. Here is the detailed review of this makeup product for you!

City Color Be Matte Matte lipstick comes in a black plastic bullet packaging with a clear plastic cap. The lid shuts tightly making this a travel-friendly packaging. Contrary to other drugstore brands, Indian as well as international, the packaging is pretty basic and appears cheap. I have seen better packaging in drugstore lipsticks in the same price range. The scent of the lipstick is something similar to that of coloring pencils. It is also not very mild, you can sense it when you apply the products. However, it is still not a deal breaker for me.
If you are willing to overlook the scent and the basic packaging, there is something spectacular for matte lipstick lovers in this lipstick. The texture of this matte lipstick is a bit dry and you need to put in a little effort to apply the lipstick. It gives a nice color payoff in one swipe, but I like to apply at least 2 swipes to build the color and get an even finish. The formula sets soon after application into a matte finish.
The shade that I got, M23 Lana, is a brick red shade bordering plum. It is a nice shade for medium warm skin tone like ours.
This lipstick is not drying to the lips even though it would be better to apply a lip balm underneath this lipstick. It transfers a bit but still stays put, even between meals, for more than 5 hours before gradually fading away. When I apply it before to the office at 8, I can usually still see it after lunch at 2! This lipstick does not leave any stain behind. You need to reapply it after 5 hours to make it last through the day. I did not notice any feathering or streaking with this lipstick. With just one reapplication in the middle of the day, you can wear this lipstick all day long looking fabulous!
I think this is one of the best durgstore matte lipsticks I have tried till now!

I liked the shade of the lipstick and the matte finish and the fact that it lasts so long. If you have dry lips, try to scrub them and moisturize them before applying this lipstick to get the best results. This is a pretty good matte lipstick, something that lovers of affordable makeup will definitely enjoy. I highly recommend it!
