The Body Shop Moringa Body Butter – Review

What comes with summer? Sweat, and consequently multiple baths during the day. The month of June has always been the hardest for me even though I do not mind summer. I always use a shower gel or a body wash (or soap) so this leads to drying of skin even in summer. I always trust The Body Shop Body Butters for my body and it has always been one of my favorite brands for bath products. So I have been using my The Body Shop Moringa Body Butter this month. I am almost out of it so I thought I will do a review for you today!

The Body Shop and LUSH products are really pricey in South Korea and there are no sales in the stores either 🙁 So during my stay, I remained focused on trying out Korean products which were quite affordable while staying away from some of my favorite bath products from LUSH and TBS. However, I wanted to buy something in Autumn so I picked up a few months. I did not get to use my Moringa Body Butter then so I have been using it in the past few days. Now that I am back in India, I can try as many TBS products as I want!
Back in 2010 when I was in Sweden, I tried many The Body Shop products and Moringa line just did not jump out to me specifically. I will blame my love for sweet, tropical, nutty and citrus scents which made me like Satsuma, Mango, Almond and Coconut ranges more. I have never been a huge fan of floral anyway so I stayed away from this. But now I like this Body butter more than any other floral body product I have used before.

Fun fact: For a long time, I read it “Morning-a” (hahaha) I don’t know why!

Like most of the Body Butters from The Body Shop, this body butter is also slightly thicker and needs some work while applying and it takes a few moments to settle in the skin. The scent does not last very long on the skin but the moisturizing effect does!
I always appreciate TBS Community Trade initiative and this body butter contains Community Trade Shea Butter. Just like my preference, this body butter is paraben-free and also contains Grape Seed oil, Sesame Seed Oil, Cocoa Seed Butter in addition to Moringa seed oil which makes this a heavy-duty moisturizer. It is targeted towards dry skin but I think it will work well for normal skin too (not sure about Oil skintype though)!

I really liked this Body Butter, even more than the Chocomania Body Butter(!) but I have deducted a half point (because sometimes a girl needs a half – remember SATS?). Jokes aside, it contains added color and fragrance so I have deducted a half point. I am quite impressed with this body butter and know that a handful of my favorite Youtubers swear by it too!
