Biotique has made a name for itself over the years as one of the most trusted herbal brands in India. They claim to use 100% botanical extracts and every product is an ayurvedic recipe. They have a good range of skincare products, catering to all skin types. Toners, however, are limited to only two with one being the Bio Honey Water Clarifying Toner and Bio Cucumber toner that I am going to review today.
Product: Biotique Bio Cucumber Pore Tightening Toner
Price: 175 INR
Quantity: 120 ml
Claim: This toner reduces the appearance of pores by tightening them, making the skin look smoother. It has pH balancing properties and also softens the skin giving it a youthful radiance. This toner is perfect for normal to oily skin.
Key Ingredients: Himalayan waters, Cucumber, Coriander, and Peppermint oil.
I started using this product some two months back. I had decided to religiously follow a skincare routine and that’s when I bought this one and I have no regrets, whatsoever. You do not need a lot of the product and a little goes a long way with this one. I use this every night regularly and even after a two month use, I have a lot of product left. The smell is sweet. The toner is green in color just like the bottle.
Coming to the actual application, the moment you slide the cotton pad across your face, you get a cooling sensation (thanks to the cucumber extract and peppermint oil.) It also dries real quick. It does leave a glow behind and your skin feels tightened. It cleanses the skin further and cleans away any dirt or makeup left behind even after cleansing.
It provides no moisturisation (not that a toner is supposed to) but does not leave your skin very dry either. Now for me, I think I shopped in haste and got myself a product that is not really meant for my dry skin. But I believe it won’t be a problem for people with normal, oily or even combination skin type. Toning anyway has to be followed with moisturizing and so this shouldn’t really be an issue for anyone. As for the pH claim, you can’t really measure it but it does tighten your pores while giving you a subtle glow.
Pros:
- Does what a toner is supposed to
- Is preservative-free
- No harsh effects like burning sensations, etc.
Cons
- The smell can be a little overwhelming (so make sure to not use too much of the product at a time)

For all the normal and oily skinned beauties out there, this product is a good herbal toner at a very affordable price. Go for it for its skin tightening and cooling properties. It would work great for the summers right now. I highly recommend this for a skincare beginner. It is easily available online.

Editor’s Note: Thank you for such a detailed review, Vaibhavi. I also have dry skin and went for the Biotique Honey Toner that worked well for me even though it did not really rock my world either. A cooling toner sounds so nice since the weather is so hot here in Delhi. I would really like to see the complete ingredient list of Biotique products. This one looks like it will have a slightly higher alcohol content and also color since the sea foam green of the toner does not look natural to me.
