One of my goals for 2013 was to try out Korean brands and since I tried pretty much everything (affordable) from Nature Republic, The Face Shop, Etude House and Missha, for 2014 I decided to try more from other Korean brands like Aritaum, It’s Skin, Banila Co., VDL, Too Cool for School and Beyond (and many more)! So recently I went to the Banila Co. store in Sinsa to try something. Banila Co. seemed to have a lot of product concepts similar to Benefit (bronzer, blush packaging are sort of the same) and the big eyeshadow palette has a similar packaging as the Naked palette (Naked 1).
Banila Co. first shopping haul:
- Banila Co. Clean it Zero Cleansing Balm (Special Edition)
- Banila Co. Style Eyeliner Pencil (Shade – Deep Black)
- Samples: 3 Classic Prime primer, 3 It Radiant CC cream (color control base whitening/moisturizing) and Clean it Zero cleansing balm (travel size)
I went with a friend and the moment we entered, we were drawn to the Banila Co. Clean it Zero Cleansing Balms. They were placed near the entrance and I was specifically drawn to the Special Edition once since it had a different packaging.
The cost:
Banila Co. Clean it Zero price: 18000 KRW
Banila Co. Style Eyeliner pencil: 14000 KRW
The sales executive there come at once and hastily swiped a black eyeliner on the hand and then used a bit of the Clean it Zero cleansing balm. The eyeliner was so rich, creamy and black that we jumped in our places asking about it (haha!) Neither of us has ever seen such a deep black pencil liner.
After getting out hands on the eyeliner, we noticed how the cleansing balm had dissolved all the eyeliner and reduced the swatch to zero! I decided to buy both the cleansing balm and the eyeliner. I did not even look at anything else since Banila Co. products are bit pricier than the products I buy frequently (from Nature Republic, Missha,Etude House especially in sale).
Just to give you an idea of what it looks like:
I swatched the eyeliner again after coming home and I just love how smoothly it glides and how deep it is! I am yet to test it out but I think it will not be good for the waterline! And since I have oily eyelids, it will be a major test for this eyeliner to pass. Stay tuned for the reviews!
