Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte lipsticks – Swatches, Details, First Impression!
Hi everyone, do you remember my obsession with the lipstick swatches circa 2014? I used to go to Korean drugstore brands just to get swatches and share them with you. I even shared swatches of Maybelline Color Sensational Bold Mattes. I received some emails at the time about how my swatches helped you pick the shade based on the color in swatches rather than how they appeared in the tube. I loved that. So this time, got a chance to get Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte lipstick swatches. This a brand new range of lipsticks released by Maybelline and it is so new that no one is even talking about it yet. I was searching for the Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid lipsticks when I came across these. But I digress. Let’s talk about the Maybelline Vivid Matte lipsticks!

Maybelline Vivid Matte Lipstick Shades:
- Vivid 1 – Scarlet Red
- Vivid 2 – Neon Pink
- Vivid 3 – Violet Pink
- Vivid 4 – Rosy Orange
Vivid 1 Scarlet Red is a warm-toned medium red which is a classic shade and if you do not have a red lipstick, I would say grab this one! This shade of Red can be worn at all times in the year and looks good on everyone.
Vivid 2 Neon Pink is a bubble gum pink shade which being a cool-toned shade may not work for everyone. But it is still a gorgeous statement shade.
Vivid 3 Violet Pink is a beautiful fuscia shade that would look great on everyone. It is the most wearable shade from this range in my opinion (which is one of the reasons I picked it up)!
Vivid 4 Rosy Orange is a medium orange shade which would look great on light to medium skintones. It is a wearable orange shade so if you have not tried an orange lipstick till now, give this one a try!

Maybelline Vivid Matte by Color Sensational First Impression:
Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid matte lipstick comes in the typical Maybelline Color Sensational packaging shape with a red see-through plastic cap and a black bullet. I love this packaging almost as much as the one released last year for the Maybelline Rebel Bouquet lipstick. I would have liked to see the Vivid Matte print on the cap but it came off with the plastic wrap 🙁 One drawback of this packaging is that the shade is not identifiable from the packaging except for the label at the base!
The lipstick has a beautiful shape and all the 4 shades released are wearable and perfect for summer. I had to restrict myself from picking other shades since I have one too many lipsticks already. But the Vivid3 Violet Pink reminded me of the Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips-talk PK015 that I adored in 2014 so I had to pick it.
This lipstick feels very smooth and it looks (and feels) creamy like other Color Sensational lipsticks. It is very easy to apply and has a good color payoff. I liked the finish I got after 2 swipes. It set to a matte finish after a few minutes. It did not feel drying to the lips. And it left a beautiful stain behind which kept the lips a bit colored for a few more hours. The stain came off easily with my makeup cleanser.
Of course I need to try for a few more days to give my final verdict but I am loving the Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte lipstick till now!
