I love reading magazines and I love to see how stylists create outfits. And sometimes they give out their tips. One of the things I have heard time and again is “Plus Size Women should stay away from Horizontal stripes.” Now I must be honest, I am a rule follower in life. So even though I love stripes, I was always a bit unsure about rocking horizontal stripes. But I broke the rules and donned stripes whenever I wanted to but there was still the question lurking somewhere deep in my mind. Do I look good in stripes?
It was only recently when I partnered with LimeRoad for the #LimeRoadBornReal campaign that I embraced stripes with open arms. The dress was sent to me by Limeroad for this campaign and I am super happy to be a part of this initiative. I am also quite pleased with how the look turned out. Here are 3 ways I styled the striped dress!

Style 1: Just Stripes 😉
I love how the dress looks on me and let me be honest, I fell for this LimeRoad dress only after I wore and saw how well it fit me. I love the pastel colours in it too. It would work great in the upcoming warmer months. I like three quarter sleeves. This dress is perfect for me. And the multi-striped print works great on my apple shaped body!
Style 2: With Blazer
Blazers are not easy to style. I cringe when I see every other person advises to add a blazer for various styling needs. Because blazers do not work for all body frames. At least they do not always work for me. However, this blazer from Vero Moda is marvelous. It is not too fitted making my upper heavy frame look chunky, not too loose to make me look frumpy. It is perfect and gives a very smart look when added to any outfit.
Style 3: With a Woollen Shrug
I love wearing shrugs. And woollen shrugs are God sent in winter! They are like comfy blankets that keep you warm but also look stylish. I have this one from ONER that is super soft and warm. I have worn it to death this winter! It adds a comfort and casual factor to the look.

Here are the 5 style icons breaking the fashion myths:
I am happy that popular brands and websites like LimeRoad are running campaigns to empower women. It is really essential to break stereotypes and also give a confidence boost to women to wear the clothes of their choice. I love stripes so I am glad I got to break the “Curvy Women should not wear Horizontal Stripes.” I like how this whole look turned out. What do you think? Comment below!
