Almost a year ago, Etude House released a range of 50 pencils in various textures and shades. I blogged about the launch and even swatched them all, see swatches, but totally lagged behind reviewing them despite having 8 of them! But the Etude House Play101 pencils have changed how I do my makeup. I have used 3 of the 8 pencils pretty extensively over the past 1 year so here is the review of the Etude House Play101 pencil #25!
FYI – Etude House Play 101 pencils do not have a name, they are categorized with just a number (in this case 25)!

I picked up the Etude House Play101 Pencil 25 because it looked like the perfect color for lips and cheeks. This is a glossy texture so I knew it would work for me. I have mainly used this for my lips but I did use this Play101 pencil as my blush a few times.
Etude House Play 101 pencils come in retractable grey plastic pens with color co-ordinated ends. The back end bands are actually sharpeners. The packaging is very basic, travel-friendly, practical and fuss-free! The pencils are labelled with just numbers to identify them – no names have been given to the shades.
Etude House Play101 pencil #25 is a raspberry pink shade with glossy finish. On lips it looks like a pigmented raspberry shade with glossy-finish while it looks like a hint of pink glow on the cheeks.
Play101 pencil #25 has a beautiful glossy finish which stays on for upto 4 hours on me and fades beautifully through the day. Reapplication is not an issue since it is a pencil I can easily carry around! It feels very light and has a moisturizing effect on the lips. I rarely apply lip balm under this pencil.
This is a 3 in 1 product for me as it gives me the precision of a lipliner, pigmentation of a lipstick and glossy finish of a lip gloss. I am in love with this product! As blush, this has really wowed me because it stays on for hours, almost as long as on the lips, and fades beautifully. The color looks nice and gives a glow which makes it especially appealing to me since I like glowing skin.

I am crazy about this Play101 pencil, if you can be crazy about a makeup product that is. I love the color, the packaging, the lasting power, the finish basically the concept of this product. Of course the #25 Play101 pencil is a glossy finish and the other textures will have different qualities so I will be reviewing the rest of the 7 of my Etude House Play 101 pencils soon!
