Hi everyone! I am back with a new product review and this time it is one of the travel-size Forest Essentials shampoo that I got a few months ago from Subhash Nagar, New Delhi (read the Forest Essentials shopping haul post). I had bought a travel set containing 6 products and I have already reviewed the Kashmiri Saffron & Neem face cleanser and the Indian Rose Absolute Ultra Rich body lotion. So keep reading to find out how well the Forest Essentials Indian Rose Absolute Hair Cleanser has been working for me!
Product: Forest Essentials Indian Rose Absolute Hair Cleanser
Claim: This gentle cleansing shampoo with Amla (Indian Gooseberry) juice, Reetha, Soya Protein, Coconut oil and herbal infusions gives natural shine, swing and fragrance.

The whole Forest Essentials Indian Rose Absolute range smells very nice. It is one of the only rose scents I have liked in cosmetics apart from Aromatherapy Essential oil, else I am not a huge fan of Rose fragrance. It is a delicate yet fresh rose scent which is not overpowering and after use, it lingers mildly in the hair for a few hours.
The hair cleanser comes in a see through plastic bottle with a golden lid. The shampoo is brown in color and has a gel-like consistency. The packaging is pretty simple and chic; and is ideal for travel. The bottle is a little bit hard so the shampoo is not easy to take out once you are halfway through.
I have used shampoo on my hair as is or after a hair oil massage and I believe that this works better when I have nothing in my hair (heavy styling products or oil). It is pretty gentle and I feel like the it does not take out the oil from my hair adequately. Since I oil my hair before (almost) every wash, I prefer using a little stronger shampoo than this. My husband however loved this and asked me to pick up the full-size bottle for him.
This shampoo is SLS free and lathers decently so I really like it for the times I need to wash my hair at a moment’s notice. I have used this on my makeup brushes and loved it!

I like this hair cleanser and can suggest this for everyday use. It is mild, SLS-free, smells nice, cleans hair gently and has natural and nature-origin ingredients. For people who use hair styling products or massage oil before shampoo, this may not be able to clean the hair thoroughly. I am reviewing the Forest Essentials Indian Rose Absolute Hair Conditioner next which I have used in conjunction with this shampoo. Stay tuned!
