The Face Shop Real Nature Olive mask REVIEW

I have finally come to that stage where I have completed a series of skincare products. Cool, right? I started using The Face Shop Real Nature masksheets in October 2013. One year later, I have bought, tried and reviewed all of the masks from the Real Nature line of The Face Shop! I have reviewed many other face mask sheets in the past year as well but I have hit the landmark with this range. The Real Nature Olive mask is the last one to be reviewed so here it goes!

The Face Shop Real Nature Olive mask

Product: The Face Shop Real Nature Olive Mask
Claim: A moisturizing and nourishing mask sheet containing olive extracts, providing extra moisture; helps dry and rough skin. The air pockets within the sheet contain handful of nutritional essence, providing natural moisture and nourishment to skin.
Directions:
1. Wash face and apply toner.
2. Pull out the mask and carefully place it on the face.
3. Remove after 10-12 minutes and tap lightly to absorb the remaining essence into the skin.
Review:
I feel like I deserve a medal or something from The Face Shop for my dedication to try out all of their masks 😉 Don’t know if that will ever happen or not but one thing that I am sure of right now is that I am addicted to masksheets. I currently have 34 more (ahem!) from different Korean brands.
Coming back to The Face Shop Real Nature Olive mask, the mask is a bleached cotton white masksheet dipped in essence which is runny and moisturizing. The mask did not smell distinctly wonderful or aweful, to be honest it was forgettable.
I used this mask during this time of the year when my skin has started developing dry patches which are visible and may get more prominent as we progress into the colder months. I consider these months to be the most important for skincare since in winter our skin gets dry (at least mine does) and since sun rays offer some respite so there is a high probability of sun damage. Besides I have tested facemask sheets for over 1 year and I can say that they are more important when the skin needs more moisture.
I did not see a huge improvement in the appearance of my skin but my skin was softer and felt more supple in the morning. However there a few points that I want to specifically mention here. The fragrance is listed last in the ingredients list, the mask is not heavily perfumed which is always a plus in my eyes for skincare products but I would prefer it to be fragrance-free. All The Face Shop Real Nature masks contain added fragrance.
Another thing I did not like was that Olive Oil extract is seventh in the Ingredient list. In all the other Real Nature masks, the main ingredient (Blueberry for Blueberry mask, rice for rice mask etc.) was 3rd or 4th in the list. So maybe this one is less potent that others. So I would rank this somewhere near the bottom of my Real Nature masksheet list.

The Face Shop mask sheets are affordable 1000 KRW (<1$) per piece and are available in singles as well as pack of 10s (at 10,000 KRW) in The Face Shop stores. They also run offers where one can pick 1+1 or 50% off or “10+10” on masks every few weeks. I would consider trying out other The Face Shop face masksheets but since this one did not stand out from the rest so I will pass on this one in the future!
