I bought the Botanical Eco Crayon lip Rouge by Nature Republic on impulse and I have been using them non-stop ever since. I have many neutral shades which fall in the same category as the #8 Modern Beige so I was more excited about #6 Shocking Orange.
My friend also has the same shade but the crayon looks entirely different on us. She has bit more pigmented lips than me so the colour looks like Brick red on her lips and orange-y red on my unevenly pigmented lips. I believe it would look more orange than red on pink lips.
Product: Nature Republic Botanical Eco Crayon Lip Rouge – 6 Shocking Orange
Claim: A jumbo lip rouge crayon that creates a glossy, creamy finish. This lip rouge creates highly-pigmented vivid colors with a creamy texture. It comes in a convenient, easy-to-use twist case.
Price: 6500 KRW
The company does not claim this to be a moisturizing (lip balm type role) or long lasting formula but emphasizes on the “pigmentation” and “creaminess”. And this description is really apt. The color comes out on the lips exactly like it looks in the packaging and the texture is creamy and hence glides smoothly on the lips.
However I would consider this as a creamy matte lip color since I do not see any glossiness on my lips after applying.
How To Use: Outline lips first then fill in both upper and lower lips. Simply swirl up to reveal more lip color rouge.
This is simple enough to use, travel with and touch-up with. That is precisely the reason I wanted these.
Packaging – The packaging is simple and classy. I like that the twister at the bottom shows the shade correctly and the lid is clear to reveal the shade.
Smell – The lip crayon does not taste like anything and feel screamy on the lips but it has a distinct crayon (chemical) smell. The funny thing is that Fragrance is listed in the ingredients. I would have liked this to have a milder scent or anything other than that of the actual crayons!
Pigmentation is commendable at least for this shade, just one coat packs a good amount of color. And it swatches true to how it appears in the packaging.

I would recommend this to people who want to try out lip crayons without paying the price of a chubby stick. Just remember these do not work as lip balms and are not ultra moisturizing. Neither are they glossy/shiny. At this price I may try a new shade. I have too many other favorite lipsticks to stick to these and I like me some gloss. Matte shades are not something I usually opt for. I apply a lip blam and then use the lip crayon and then apply a gloss depending on my mood or lip balm on top again.
If you have tried Clinique chubby sticks or lip jumbo pencils or crayons from other brands, recommend a good one.
