Chanel is my favorite luxury brand, with Dior coming a close second. And I have no idea when and why it happened but that’s just how it is. I usually go for affordable stuff but for sometimes I wish I could try more luxury products and not because they are necessarily good but just to make me feel pampered. Since I love eye makeup and on my simple makeup days I basically wear only eyeliner, I got this one thinking I would get a good use out of it. I have used this long enough to do a review so let’s go!

Product: Chanel Stylo Waterproof Long lasting eyeliner 10 Ebene
Claim: Waterproof, smudge-proof eyeliner delivers long-lasting definition with a twist of the wrist: Color winds up when you need it, winds down when you don’t. Gentle, soft, silicone-enriched formula delivers smooth, even lining. A built-in sharpener at the opposite end detaches for quick refreshes.
Review: I don’t really know why but I find the part of the claim – Color winds up when you need it, winds down when you don;’t. We know it is retractable (LOL)! Anyway.
The Chanel Ebene eyeliner is a black pencil liner that comes in a retractable form with a tip sharpener on the other end. I never use smudge tips that come with pencil liners and I think it was really smart of Chanel to eliminate that and add a sharpener. So I can always have a pointy end to have precise application!
And the formula is really good. It glides on smoothly on the eyes and looks good in the waterline as well. This stays put very well for most part of the day on my upper lash line (~ 7-8 hours) while it fades in my waterline. And for the record, nothing has ever stayed in my waterline, this is the one that has stayed the longest. It looks great until 4 hours when it starts coming off because I have watery eyes!
Even after using it for a long time, the formula is sill good and even though it is simple black classic Chanel packaging, it feels so luxurious in my hands. The body of the liner is so cool and posh to touch! I love it. The other good thing is that it does not take long to set. It does not smudge or feather and stays put with goof intensity through the day!

I would have given this eyeliner full on full if it was not as expensive as it is but then it is a luxury item! I am glad I bought this because I got a good use out of it. If you apply black eyeliner quite often and want something special, go for this eyeliner. It is not a must have because there are good drugstore eyeliners out there but if you can afford it and make the most of your investment then go for the Chanel Stylo Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner!
