Innisfree It's Real Bija Mask Review – Shopping Escapades

The Innisfree It’s Real masks come in various “flavours” – Aloe, Bija, Gold Kiwi, Bamboo, Honey, Shea Butter, Pomegranate, Strawberry, Lemon etc. I picked up 3 masks from this range last year (Innisfree shopping haul): Gold Kiwi, Bija, Shea Butter. I really liked the Gold Kiwi mask and hence had high expectations from the Bija mask, I used it yesterday and here is the review!

The weather in Bangalore is crazy these days. We have bright sunshine during the day and thunderstorms at night. This is really inconvenient for me since the window placement in my house (rented) is not ideal and a lot of water comes in (yes, even through closed windows). Not to sound whiny, but it sucks to be mopping at night instead of resting that too while facing power cuts. So the same thing happened again yesterday and we had a long power cut followed by voltage fluctuations until the power was restored at 2.40 am. Rain kept wrecking havoc inside my home too. So anyway, at 3 am I decided to pamper myself with a sheet mask! And the first thing that came out of my masksheet stack was Innisfree It’s Real Bija Mask.

Innisfree It’s Real Bija Mask

The Innisfree It’s Real Bija mask comes in an individual sachet with ingredient list and instructions printed in both English and Korean. These are bleached cotton masksheets and have cutouts for eyes, nose and lips. Unlike other masks, Innisfree masks have patches for the under eye area. The masksheet is pretty filled with essence and very delicate. I unfolded it carefully before placing it on my face (which I had cleansed and toned beforehand).

This mask smelled a little more chemical than the Gold Kiwi mask but it had the same cooling effect on the skin. It felt very relaxing even though I had to be careful with my eyes as the cutouts were small and I was afraid of getting the essence into my eyes. I kept it on for about 15 minutes, pat my skin until the essence was fully absorbed and then rubbed the leftover essence in the mask on my hands.
My skin felt soft and supple afterwards and I drifted to sleep almost instantly. And I woke up in the morning to well-moisturized, supple skin!

Innisfree It’s Real Bija Mask – Ingredients

The Innisfree It’s Real Bija masksheet is free from parabens and petroleum derivatives. Some of the important ingredients in the mask (essence) are: Lilium Candidum (Madonna Lily) Flower water, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) flower water, Torreya Nucifera (Japanese nutmeg-yew) Seed Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate (Sodium Salt of Hyaluronic acid), Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit extract, Citrus Unshiu (Japanese Mandarin) Peel extract, Camellia Sinensis (Tea) leaf extract, Opuntia Coccinellifera (Prickly Pear/Cactus) Fruit extract, Camellia Japonica Leaf extract (Japanese Camellia), Orchid extract. The mask does contain added fragrance even though in my opinion the scent is not at all appealing (it was slightly appalling to me actually)

I love to look at ingredient lists of cosmetics and Innisfree uses the best possible ingredients for all their products. I have always had a very good experience with their products. The Bija mask is no expection, it has plenty of plant extracts that benefit the skin. The It’s Real masks are a great way for me to do something extra special for my skin periodically! I loved the Gold Kiwi mask better than the Bija mask but if you are willing to overlook the scent of the Bija mask, it is as good as the Gold Kiwi mask in all other aspects. I highly recommend Innisfree It’s Real Bija masksheet!
