Etude House Princess Etoinette Crystal Shine Lips lipsticks are 3 limited edition lipstick shades released in the winter of 2013 with the Etude House Princess Etoinette Season 2 Holiday Collection 2013 which came with 3 lipsticks, a powder, perfume, 2 scented candles, 2 scented hand creams, 1 hand mirror and a hair mist. Read the launch post.
The three shades are:

  • Precious Etoinette (PPK005) – light pink
  • Moon Flower under the Stars (PBE102) – a beige with hints of pink
  • Sip of Wine (PRD302) – orange-y red with gold shimmer

My lips are bit pigmented (especially the top-half) and I am not very fair so I knew the pink (PPK005) and beige (PBE102) will not look good on me (or my lips) so I decided to go for the apparently darker shade – Sip of Wine (PRD302) which is essentially a red but looks quite orange thanks to the gold shimmer particles!
The Etude House Princess Etoinette collection released in 2012 had 8 shades but the ones released in 2013 are more shimmery and visibly a couple of shade darker than their counterparts (I recently also got the PRD301 which was released in 2012, it is in line for review).

PRD302 is a warm-toned lipstick so I suspect it to suit Asian skintones. I like how it looks on me even though I never go for such shimmery lipsticks usually. It is a bit more orange than I would prefer but it is a unique red shade, quite good for people not wanting to wear scarlet!
My only problem is the “label”. If these were limited edition lipsticks (released I think in November and December), why are they still selling it (and that too full price, hint hint). And the stores in Seoul still have the Princess Etoinette lipsticks from the 2012 collection. I mean why label something limited edition and keep it for a year in the stores?
I am in love with the packaging. This whole collection features products in white with silver accents and the details on the lipstick around the E mark are marvelous! The lipsticks are not particularly long-wearing (not that they claim to be), are quite light weight, do not feather out, glide on easily, easy to wear sheered out or full on (but shimmery). These lipsticks are priced at 13000 KRW (which is a bit pricey for Etude House) but hey we pay for the packaging too.
Rating: 4.5/5
Recommend: Yes
Repurchase: Yes  (I want to now try the lipsticks from 2012 collection since the other two shades in this collection may not suit me)
To be honest, I like the Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips-talk lipsticks more than the Princess Etoinette crystal shine lipsticks and they are cheaper (8500 KRW) and less shimmery too! Buy the Etude House Princess Etoinette Crystal Shine lips lipsticks for the ‘princess’ packaging and the shimmery vibrant shades, everything else you can get in their Dear my blooming lips-talk lipsticks too (which are not limited-edition, I think)!
