Hedonista Fresh Face Scrub Review

When I heard about the brand Hedonista, I immediately got intrigued by it. Hedonism is all about happiness and pleasure so I wanted to know the products of this brand would perform. Soon I found out that I could access the brand’s products through Fab Bag and sure enough a couple of months ago I received a face scrub from the brand through FabBag. I have the most unexpected experience with the product. Read my detailed review here.

Hedonista Fresh Face Scrub review
Hedonista Fresh Face Scrub

Hedonista Fresh Face Scrub comes in a white plastic tub with a twist-open lid. The tub has a stick-on label that contains important information about the product. The first thing you notice when you open the lid is the weird texture of the scrub. I was almost taken aback. I got queasy looking at the translucent gel type thing with chunks of other stuff (namely desiccated coconut, strawberries, etc.) It looked plain weird to me. I think people who watched my unboxing video of that month’s Fab Bag might remember my reaction. Haha!
I still forced myself to touch the scrub and then (later that day) use it for the first time on my face. It was too gooey and runny for my liking but being a beauty blogger, I had to try it. After all, I have to review it for you guys.
It felt like I used snail’s insides mixed with a banana on my skin (yuck). The scent is overtly sweet and fruity with Strawberry and Banana “notes” clearly noticeable to me. The irony is that the packaging says that this product is “a super-lush snack for your skin.”
No, thank you!
After I washed my face, I did not really feel like this scrub did a lot to cleanse the skin. The scrub granules, if I can call them that, did not feel like they exfoliated the skin at all. The lactic acid might have done something on the invisible level though I did not notice anything. For a person who loves her gentle apricot scrubs amongst others, this was too mild of a face scrub. A bit of moisture was there (if you have ever used bananas on the skin, you might know what I am referring to.)
I am not sure how and where this Hedonista face scrub fits in my skin care routine but I am going to continue using it every week until I finish it off. This is such a let-down considering I was looking forward to try out the brand for so long.

Too mild and too expensive, I am not sure what Hedonista Fresh Face Scrub is actually going to do for my skin (or your skin). The texture itself is a huge turn-off for me. Since this is a mild product with natural ingredients, I think people with sensitive skin might enjoy it (good luck with the texture though.) Strangely, I am still interested in trying out other products from the brand.

  1. Don’t really get scrubs which are really mild – they barely serve a purpose.

  2. I’ve a couple of cleansers that were like that. I like natural stuff, but it also has to work well. 🙂
