Lakme 9 to 5 Hydrating Super Sunscreen Review

One of my favourite products from Lakme used to be their Strawberries and Milk cream, or something named along the line. It used to smell obnoxiously fruity and sweet. I used to be into heavily fragranced products back then I think. When I started experimenting with other skincare products, I totally forgot to check back with my once-favourite brand. Recently, I picked up their sunscreen for dry skin and used for a few weeks. Here is a detailed review of that Lakme Sunscreen.

Lakme 9 to 5 Hydrating Super Sunscreen

Lakme 9 to 5 Hydrating Super Sunscreen comes in a rose gold plastic bottle with a pump dispenser and metallic rose gold lid. The packaging is sophisticated and travel-friendly. The dispenser pumps out enough of the product to cover the whole face and neck in two pumps. The texture is quite hydrating and yet light-weight. It gives a dewy look and gets absorbed quickly into the skin, I think within 5-10 minutes.
The scent is nice even though it is not as noticeable and dissipates quickly. I think it works well for 3-4 hours before I need to reapply it. I have not a problem of excessive sweating or clogging of pores with this sunscreen but I know for a fact that this sunscreen is best for dry skin. There is a mattifying version of this sunscreen in the market as well that is more suitable for oily skin. I have not used it since I have dry/combination skin.
Being a broad spectrum sunscreen, this will work great under makeup and also for makeup-free days. The price is a bit high for this drugstore product. I think the consumer ends up paying more for the chic packaging than the sunscreen itself.
Lakme Sunscreen for dry skin
Lakme 9 to 5 Hydrating Super Sunscreen

Rating: 4/5
Recommend: Yes (for people with dry skin)
Repurchase: Maybe
I am too fickle with skincare products and even though this sunscreen has worked well for me, I am not planning to repurchase it anytime soon. If you have oily skin, I have heard people rave about the mattifying sunscreen in the same range from Lakme that you can try out. People with dry skin can definitely use this sunscreen for the face and neck on a daily basis. Since this is an expensive sunscreen, I think going for a different (and more potent) sunscreen for the body will be a better option. I have also finished up using the Inveda Sun screen Cream gel and have moved on to Neutrogena Dry Touch Sun Block with SPF50+ and PA+++.
