The Body Shop “Drops of Youth” Youth Concentrate Review, Price, Buy in India

The Body Shop is one of my favorite brands for skincare and body products. I have tried way too many products from them since 2010 when I initially started using The Body shop products. I remember building up a mini-collection of mine with the bath products. I am not as crazy anymore and only pick up what I need. So this time, I have two products Nutriganics “Drops of Youth” Youth Concentrate and Nutriganics Foaming Face cleanser in my current skincare routine. I received this serum in my November FabBag. I have been using it for about 2 weeks now and am ready to review it.

REVIEW:

The Body Shop Nutriganics Drops of Youth Youth Concentrate comes in a green glass bottle with a black lid. It has a dropper dispenser. The full size comes in 30 ml size. This is a hygienic packaging, but being a glass bottle, not exactly travel-friendly. I received a 7 ml sample in my FabBag last month. I felt like it would not last me for more than week but even after 2 weeks of use, there is still some left.

It smells citrus and the smell is strong when you dispense the product from the bottle but it does not linger. The serum has a water-y light-weight consistency. It gets absorbed fast almost as soon as you apply it. However, it is not very moisturizing. It does well underneath a hydrating cream though.

When I saw the ingredient list, this serum has plenty of plant-based extracts and appears to be good for the skin. Over the course of two weeks, I felt like my skin felt hydrated but nothing more noticeable than that. I think this is a bit too light for for this season when my skin is bound to be so dry. My skin needs an oil-based serum. This serum might work great for people with combination and oily skin being water-based.

The price is a bit higher than other good face serums available but it is considerably more affordable than high-end brands. The quality and the fact that this serum contains so many plant-extracts, organic and natural ingredients makes this a good choice still.

I loved using The Body Shop Drops of Youth Concentrate. I think it would work well for oily and combination skin all through the year while people with dry skin might find it suitable for summer needing something more hydrating (like an oil)  in winter. I am planning to purchase the full-size product in summer for myself. Even though this product is labelled as “youth concentrate”, it is something that would be great to start using it in your 20’s too.
