Hardwood flooring and wooden furniture are timeless ways to add a beautiful look to your home, as well as giving the floors a sturdy and reliable finish. One common myth about hardwood floors and wooden furniture is that they are difficult to clean and maintain. Although this can be true, we recommend finding natural wood cleaners. These wood cleaners are great for the wood itself and have proven results in keeping the shine on your floors.
Wood cleaners are different than regular cleaners as they’re designed specifically for the beauty and sensitivity of wood floors and furniture. Regular cleaners will often times dull, scuff, and even stain the wood – which is why we recommend finding a quality product for your quality wood. A wood cleaner can help you restore your floor, get rid of scuff marks, or even serve as a proactive way to maintain it.
We have put together a list of some of our favorite wood cleaners that we recommend you try!
-
Guardsman Wood Cleaner and Polish
This is a great combination and has wonderful effects on the quality and shine of your wooden furniture or floors. It’s best known for being effective in breaking through grime build up – so it would be best used on heavily used parts of your floor or a wooden door or table. It comes in 3 scents – we like lemon!
-
Black Diamond Wood and Laminate Floor Cleaner
This is a great product if you’re trying to remove a tough stain from your wood floors or furniture. It does require a few passes to get through those stubborn scuff marks – but it’s still very effective. It’s easy to use and has incredible results!
-
Murphy Original Wood Cleaner – Concentrated
This is a great option if you’re on a budget but also experiencing scuff marks and stains on the wood in your home. However, it is a concentrated blend which means it will require diluting which makes its ease of use comparatively lesser than the ones above. However, the cleaning power of this product is too efficient to leave off this list – and we definitely recommend!
Wood floors and wood furniture do not need to be difficult. Although it does take time, patience, and the right cleaner – wooden floors and furniture are a beautiful accent to any home. The trick is to maintain them over time. Try to get out those tough stains and scuffs as they come, and avoid letting grime build up over time.
There are plenty of great wood cleaner options on the market, the ones we mentioned are just a few of our favorites. It’s important to do your research when you’re searching for your perfect wood cleaner as you don’t want to stain or dull your wood.
Editors’ Note: Thank you for this informative post, Jen. I am all for natural products since they are not harsh to the skin and also do not damage the wood. Synthetic cleaners smell so strong that I usually get headaches when I use them to clean my house. Natural products are also great for the environment in addition to being as effective in cleaning as the chemical-laden synthetic products. Now I know what I am going to use to clean my wooden furniture!
